Yogi Leaning towards leaving per multiple sources

Recommended Posts

Expect James Blackmon Jr. to remain in school, but Yogi Ferrell is leaning toward entering the NBA Draft, per multiple sources. #iubb

Tweet from Justin Albers

So we should expect JBJ to go pro and Yogi to stay? Always bet on the opposite of what Albers says. lol

Maybe. I don't like "the announcement" and it being in Indy at a steakhouse but at the end of the day it is his life and he can do whatever he wants. He could stay and take us to a championship and still be talked about in the state of Indiana for the next 100 years. If he leaves he will just be another good player to come though. Depends if that kind of thing is important to him. Don't see any scenario outside of an injury where his stock gets worse

No one knows ANYTHING! There are no inside sources. Half the rumors are right but then half are wrong. After all, there's a 50/50 chance right? After a few days we can hopefully move on to more important sports topics. In the meantime, I guess we'll just keep guessing

Hmmmmm I'll bet I can think of at least one legit inside source.

Good in what sense though? If that's our starting backcourt, which would mean a guard added for depth is not as good as Z, then we'll be an ok team, but probably somewhere in the 5th-8th range in conference. That's OK, but I'm tired of "ok".

Rob Johnson and NZ would be good starters. We would just need depth after them.

When the rumor is about 2 players you only have a 25% chance to be right. That said, my 25% guess is that they are both back next year and Yogi starts and ends his IU career with fun years.

Not buying.   Don't trust the source and I think his dad is trying to increase visibility of a few things, Yogi included.   My sources tell me he's staying.  Not that mine are any better, but in this case, I buy what they're selling for a few reasons.

Albers is an absolute fool. He talks out of orifices that aren't meant for talking. Most of what he says is completely off, and yet he still speaks as though he's a source of truth. I truly hate his reporting.

You know this is how stock brokers used to get clients, right?  They'd buy a list of say, 200 random names - people with money.   Doctors, lawyers, business owners....  They'd tell 100 that "GM is going up" and 100 that GM is going down!"    Then, they'd take that list of 100 for whom they were right, and do it again.  They'd tell 50 "Sears is going up!" and 50 "Sears is going down!"    Repeat the sequence.  Take the 50 for whom they were correct and tell 25 "Exxon is going up," and the other 25 "Exxon is going down!"   Pretty soon, you've got 5 people for whom you've been right 5 straight times!   Before the internet and all of this information, who could run fast enough to give their money to a guy who'd been right 5 straight times!   Just depends on who you tell and what you tell them.

I love this... Yogi is "leaning towards" leaving. No matter what happens, no one can prove that this statement is incorrect, because you can lean all different ways it doesn't matter. If he stays, he changed his mind. If he leaves, he was leaving all along. Win win win win for JA.
