I think the shoe companies impacts on recruiting are way overblown.  Kansas, UCLA, and Louisville are all Adidas schools and are all able to recruit at a very high level.

We can list out every minute detail of why a recruit chooses school X or school Y, but at the end of the day I'd say about 98% of all decisions are made based on one of two factors:

1. Coaching Staff

2. Location

Everything else is pretty negligible in my mind.

For your average to great recruit I would agree to your top 25ish recruit I would disagree

Obviously Nike/Jordan is the ideal scenario for us. But if we're going to switch to Under Armour, we might as well stay with Adidas. UA is hot garbage and possibly my least favorite brand of all. I hope everyone enjoys walking around town with an IU Under Armour shirt in which the UA logo is 10 times the size of the IU logo with some stupid slogan like "BALLS DEEP" in highlighter yellow font. UA is the Darren Rovell of brands. Let's get Fila instead.

You mean you wouldn't want to see our players rocking these?

Hate Nike/Jordan brands.  I can't remember the last Nike thing I owned.  I found an almost brand new Nike ball on the course last fall.  I teed it up and smacked it in the ocean after about 3 minutes of ownership.  I have Adidas and UA IU apparel and I love it.  I do understand the draw of Nike for recruits but you won't find me buying any of it.

1)  Adidas

2)  UA

With you 100%. I try to stay away from Nike if possible. I love Adidas. Under Armour has only a select few things that I'll wear. Some of their shirts/sweatshirts fit too tightly and the only pair of shoes I ever owned made by UA fell apart pretty quickly.

I enjoy your opinion... Bet remember, we need a brand that 18-24 year olds want to wear.

Im 20. And I know most people my age like Nike better, so in no way am I saying don't switch. Just putting it out there that not everyone my age is a Nike lover.

I'm pro-Nike mainly because I know they'll up the gear at IU. I personally own many adidas items of clothing but NIke's college swag is just a lot cooler.

Oh and the whole recruiting thing.
