IU vs Grand Canyon game thread

Recommended Posts

The intro of MSB garners the largest ovation of the night.

Crispin just crapped the bed.  "Wearing the candy cane pants at Freedom Hall."

BTN hardly has on-air talent for a double-header. Quit the 6-game marathons.

Even the people who played in Freedom Hall don't play in Freedom Hall anymore.

And those are just Christmas Spirit pants.

Reading through the game thread, it's clear people were bored and complaining about our schedule, but we've had some decent ones already and have 2 big ones coming up.

I'm just glad we made it boring by taking care of business. Butler and Georgetown games are HUGE for our NCAA hopes.

I watched Stan at Findlay Prep and he played 2nd fiddle to Nigel Williams Goss BUT I like how he played because he played his role. Hustled on D, seemed to hit his FTs. It's crazy how a lack of confidence among other things can affect your game. Most of it is mindset and trying to do too much,

Stan hit free throws? wow.
All joking aside he has turned into this years Jeremy Hollowell. He looks bored out there, he doesn't seem to try and when he gets to the rim he just seems to find the most awkward way to just throw the ball at the rim, but then again so does Troy. I don't really think it has anything to do with confidence. I just honestly think he's not that good. He can play decent D but thats it. He can drive to the bucket well, but lacks control and can't finish. Cant shoot period. He doesn't bring much to the table

This is freaking embarrassing. Crean needs to put the scrubs in and see if there’s ANYONE on this team who can and will play defense. I am so sick of seeing these crappy teams drive the lane for easy layups.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Some of these guys r the worst defensive players ever to wear an Indiana uniform. IMO

It wouldn't take much to improve our schedule. Just add a couple top 25 teams and only play 1-2 games against teams in the 300's instead of 4-5.

Crean wants no part of that because he knows he doesn't have the coaching acumen to successfully get the team through all those games.

Well a couple of these games against teams in the 300s were scheduled to give guys a chacne to come back to IU (Mike Davis and Pat Knight) but you are right. Id honestly like to see us just play more teams in IN and area teams during the preseason. Do away with the crossroads classic and just play Butler and Notre Dame each year. Take away some of the teams we've been playing and plug in Ball St, Xavier, Dayton, University of Ohio, Valpo, etc. They aren't huge opponents but they are at least local teams and would be more competition than Grand Canyon
