Kind of interesting, and reflecting how strong the B1G is, again, in the top half, Pomeroy ratings today have Ill, OSU, Mich and MSU all in a row:

14 Ill

15 OSU

16 Mich

17 MSU

All have adj O in top 25 (8, 10, 20, 24)

Adj D 16, 19, 22, 49 - OSU weakest defensively but still top 50

PU 3d, Adj O 1 overall, Adj D 42

Iowa typically strong offensively, Adj O 4, but defensively not so, Adj D 109

so we’re still 7th on KenPom, Adj O 64, Adj D 14

- The O has gradually improved but it’s almost always a tale of 2 halves- if the team fixes that we’re dangerous. If not we’re good but spotty and a question mark

I believe the Big Tens Top 10 teams is the best in the nation when looking at average NET ranking. But thanks to Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland and Nebraska... It drops an extra 30-40 spots on the average.

Right now the Top 10 teams in the Big Ten have an averaged NET rankings of 26.7. When you add in Maryland, Nebraska, Rutgers and Penn State.... Drops to 61.5.

And of those bottom 4 as of today it’s still a Q 2 win if you win @Maryland and @Penn St.   B1G is loaded with Q1 and Q2 opportunities

We’ll need those opportunities! We’ve had a doughy noncon. Does the committee view noncon vs. conference wins differently, outside of overall noncon sos?

No they view them the same.   You just can’t have a cupcake non conference followed by a cupcake conference schedule and expect to get in.   NC state a couple years ago has the worst non conference schedule but had a NET around the 30’s.   They ended up getting left out because in conference they had a lot of wins but it was against the bottom of the ACC and didn’t have many Q1 or Q2 wins in those conference games.    B1G teams this year won’t have that problem.  Pretty much every game will be a Q 1 or Q2.    Non conference are interesting.  IU in  Archie’s time had  non Conference results outside of his first year that was good enough to get in but it was the conference results that left them out.  Creans last year he won non  Conference games against 2 eventual 1 seeds and found a way to lose enough in conference to get left out (1st time in history a team beat 2 eventual 1seeds in non conference and got left out).  Non Conference schedule moving forward should be bulked up but with as good as B1G is it shouldn’t be a deciding factor in if IU will get in.   They will either win enough in conference to make it or lose enough not to get in.   Should be fun to watch

Hawaii/N Iowa cancelled today but the other games are good to go

You upload from your mobile phone?  The phone's image registry should allow you to do basic edits like rotate a picture in 90-degree increments.

Meanwhile, IUPUI is really making the case they are the worst team in the country, though I strongly believe this is because they have absolutely nobody who has any talent.  Matt Crenshaw is way over his head this year, and I seriously hope he can get anyone who has anything resembling skills next year.

Well Jeff Goodman just confirmed that indeed teams are in charge of their own covid protocols and there is no consistency with half testing everyone and half not.

Once again NCAA is brilliant and burying head and sand. What a mess and wild west!
