Walking Boot of Doom

(2016) SG Bruce Brown to Miami

Recommended Posts

The timing here just screams IU. He took his Miami visit in late October and then a week or so ago he tells ESPN he's waiting for spring. We get a committment from De'ron and a few days later, he decides to go ahead and make a committment. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

You gotta imagine that he sees 3 of our 5 scholarship spots for next year filled, that we're still out there recruiting Rawle and Thon heavily, and Eron Gordon and Vijay Blackmon are still out there with offers. Crean is also likely to find another player or two he likes over the next few months.

If we add Brown---this class is shaping up to be EPIC. I have to think the quick decision bodes well in our favor.  Maybe the Purdue visit put us over the edge.  While he was there visiting probably the only thing they talked about was IU.  Maybe their complex pushed him to an early commit!

Seems a little odd. Last week it was Spring announcement and boom Davis picks us. Cujo signs...Uncle Mo on our side...my hunch is that our staff is coming from a different standpoint this week.

Basically we want you, have shown that we want you....but we can't wait until Spring.

However it happens Brown will bring a defensive minded top guard who can play any guard position we want. Plus he visits Purdue and cancels them within 24 hours of leaving is a little nice too. Strong class. Now it's time to swing Schwarber deep and go for Thon or Alkins.

If hes serious about playing PG I don't see how he can pick Miami.  I doubt Newton is going pro and hes going to be stiff competition for that role next year.  Who would he have to beat out here?  Newkirk and Cujo not meaning to insult either guy but we offer him a much easier path to meaningful playing time and a much better chance at a NC
