Meyer and Lykins flipped to IU fyi

SWEET!!!

When there are only two schools left, Meyer is already glued to one of them (Nova) and switches to the other with a commitment coming soon, that's gotta be not just good news, but also fairly telling.

IF (and I know it's still a sizeable "if") our recruiting class was J Tucker, J Smith, C Moore, and Al Durham, I would be quite happy and satisfied:

  • Shooters to replace the ones we're likely to lose,
  • Size to replace what we're likely to lose,
  • High character kids,
  • High talent group with excellent upside.

Yessirree!!

Like the class overall. With our PG situation the way it is still hoping we can land waters somehow.

Would feel alot better with this class if Crean had landed a legit big man.. When/If Bryant leaves at the end of the year, Davis is the only legit "big" on the roster who can bang down low.

While you are right, there have been plenty of teams ( assuming enough overall talent) that have won national championships with far less size than we are likely to have next year.

True.. I guess I'm more concerned about being able to rebound than anything.

Here, I disagree. Crean teams routinely rebound very well, especially the guards. Juwan Morgan is arguably already a better rebounder than TB and DeRon, and he's certainly better than Max was as a backup center.

Where I worry is not having a backup tall-enough-wide-body to lean on people in the post and protect the rim. Don't want another Pritchard/Elston combo as our backup big. Killed us on the defensive end.

JMo will likely play backup center if things unfurl as they appear. Could be worse. Matchup advantage on O. Moore might get a decent amount of play right off the bat. His size will give him opportunities.

Impossible to know how strong CMoore's will is to defend the post before he gets here, but somewhere in one of the clips I saw some encouraging signs that he gets low and works hard.

It's not a dream TB is a second rounder atm. He wouldn't be the first kid to stick around for a 3rd year to try and get into the first round.

Don't get me wrong - it'd be a fantastic development. I'm usually an optimist, but I'm not seeing good news to that huge an extent!

I just don't see a kid leaving early to be a second round short of his junior year being the most likely scenario. Unless you are being forced out like at UK.

The fact Crean never even sniffed around back up bugs makes me think he knows something.

Holy crap Meyer picked us ahead of the commitment date. That has to be a record and makes me very confident we land him. McCarthy probably feels stupid now. His boss picked us and he is a "insider" for IU. Even tweeted about his pick lol. Awesome
