More schedule changes thanks to Mother Nature.

Indiana softball series against No. 22 Maryland has been altered. 

The Hoosiers will face the Terps in a doubleheader tomorrow with the first pitch to start at 10 a.m. ET. The second game will begin 30 minutes after the first with an estimated start time of 12:30 p.m. ET.

And the winning streak climbs to 13 in dramatic fashion.  Copeland pitched a complete game giving up 5 hits but 1 of them was a solo HR in the Maryland 6th.  In the bottom of the 7th, Hoosiers loaded the bases with 2 outs and Taylor Minnick is HBP to tie it up.  Sarah Stone then singled to right center to bring in the winning run.  Final score 2-1.

14 in a row with a 15-7 pounding of Maryland in the first game of today's doubleheader.  Hoosiers with 14 hits in the game.  Parker goes 3-3 and 4 other Hoosiers with 2 hits apiece.  Sarah Stone with 4 RBI that included a 3-run HR in the 1st inning.  Johnson started and pitched 5 innings allowing 10 hits and giving up 6 runs.  Copeland closed it out with the game shortened by the 8-run mercy rule.

Game #2 underway with IU batting in the bottom of the 3rd and trailing 3-2.  Copeland started but was pulled in the 2nd after giving up 3 hits and 3 runs.  Montgomery now on the mound.

These women are on a roll with a 15-game winning streak.

Hoosiers sweep the opening series of B1G play with an 11-4 win.  Hoosier bats stayed hot with 13 hits today.  Sarah Stone with 2 HRs --  2-run HR in the 1st and another 2-run HR in the 3rd and a sac fly in the 4th for 5 RBIs on the day.  Parker with a 2-run HR in the 3rd. Kern with a 2-run HR in the 6th.  Montgomery took the mound in the 2nd and kept the Terps from mounting any serious threats the rest of the way. 

Tuesday night we host Butler for a single game.  A doubleheader on Wednesday with PUke in West Laffy.  Next weekend we host a 3-game series with O$U.

Hoosiers win 9-1 with the game shortened due to the 8-run rule.  Kern, Minnick and Parker each with 2 hits.   9 total for the team.  Minnick, Copeland and Parker each with 2  RBI.  Copeland started and pitched 3 innings; Montgomery pitched the 4th and Kleiman the 5th collectively allowing just 4 hits and 2 BB.

Tomorrow afternoon the women will be in West Lafayette for a doubleheader against PUke starting at 3:00.  Both games will be televised on BTN.

Mid-week conference games count in conference standings unlike mid-week conference baseball games.  Thanks to @Aaron for clarifying that for me.

Purdue (15-16, 0-3 B1G) dropped their conference opener at Nebraska falling 7-9, 1-4, and 2-4 in the three-game series.

Against archrival Purdue, IU trails, 40-41, in all-time wins. The two teams last on April 26, 2022, where IU swept the Boilermakers, winning both games in the doubleheader.

17 in a row with an 8-5 win over PUke in today's first game.  IU women had to come from behind twice in the game before scoring 5 in the 4th and 2 more in the  7th.  Bassett, Kern & Copeland all 2-4; Stone 2-3 which accounted for 8 of our 11 hits.  Kern 3 RBI and Copeland with 2.  Copeland started on the mound and was replaced by Johnson in the 4th.  Copeland wasn't sharp allowing 6 hits and 5 runs in her 3 innings.  Copeland only gave up 2 hits in her 4 innings.

2nd game underway and we have a 1-0 lead after 2 complete.  Heather Johnson on the mound.

Game #2 Hoosiers again come from behind thanks to some heads up base running in the 5th and score 2 runs to take a 4-3 lead.  Johnson pitched 4 innings giving up 4 hits and 3 runs but 3 of the hits were for extra bases.  Kleiman took over in  the 5th and stays on the mound for the 6th.  We've been limited to 3 hits but one was a solo HR by Copeland.

#18 in a row as we sweep the Evil Empire and take tonight's second game 5-4.  Kleiman took the mound in the 5th and faced 11 batters striking out 4 and gets the "W".  She gave up one hit, a solo HR in the 7th.

On the season we're 23-9 and 5-0 in conference.  This coming weekend we host Ohio State for a 3-game series.
