And thus ends the 2020 IU Women's Softball season.  :-(

Emily Goodin closes the door on Toledo and the IU softball season.  That’s it.  IU wins 3-0 and improves to 12-9 before the season is canceled due to COVID-19.  Goodin finishes with seven strikeouts and another complete game.

Indiana Softball has announced the addition of graduate transfer Micah Schroder, an infielder who spent her previous four years at Dartmouth College. Schroder will be eligible to play immediately for Indiana.

Over her four seasons at Dartmouth, Schroder amassed a .335 batting average, 120 hits, 78 RBI's and 15 home runs. In 2019, she had one of the greatest seasons in Dartmouth Softball history recording a program best single season batting average (.473) and the most RBIs in a single season (40). For her performance, Schroder won Ivy League Player of the Year, was named to the NFCA Division I All-Region First Team, and was a Unanimous First Team All-Ivy honoree. In 2018, she was named NFCA Division I All-Region Second Team and Second Team All-Ivy.

A native of Houston, Texas, Schroder attended Cy-Fair Senior High School where she was a four-year varsity softball letter winner, was a three-time 6A First Team All-District honoree and a three-time Academic All-District honoree. Schroder bats left, throws right and played her travelball for Intruders 18 Gold-Johnson.

A daughter of Jeff and Maria Schroder, she has a brother Will, and a sister Merris who played softball at the University of Alabama. Schroder is planning to get her MBA or MS in Economics at Indiana.

5 College Softball Programs On The Rise.

https://www.softballamerica.com/stories/five-college-softball-programs-on-the-rise/

Indiana

After coming from Marshall to Indiana, head coach Shonda Stanton’s teams have been known for their speed on the bases and their collective approach at the plate. IU has established its identity as a small-ball team with room for power in the middle of its lineup.

Following an impressive 2019 campaign, 2020 got off to a slow start but showed promise before the end of the season. Senior pitcher Emily Goodin will be back in the circle for the Hoosiers next spring. She was 10-7 during the shortened 2020 season, but held a 1.76 ERA and threw 13 complete games. The potential breakout of pitcher Josie Wood and the addition of freshmen homegrown players Macy Montgomery and Amber Linton should give optimism to IU’s pitching staff.

Nearly all of IU’s roster will return next season, spearheaded by veteran bats Annika Baez, Taylor Lambert, Grayson Radcliffe and Gabbi Jenkins.

IU has the potential and the support to be a regular in the NCAA Tournament and a power in the Big Ten. The next step in the program’s progression is starting to knock off Big Ten heavyweights such as Michigan and Minnesota.

The Big Ten announced its conference only schedule for the 2021 softball season on Monday evening. The Indiana University Softball program will play 44 games including 16 home games slated to be played at Andy Mohr Field.

"This is a unique opportunity to play every Big Ten opponent this season," Head Coach Shonda Stanton said. "My staff is grateful to be at Indiana with the leadership of Scott Dolson; we appreciate the tireless efforts of his staff and the medical team. Above all else, my coaches and I are super proud of our student-athletes and cannot wait to take the field with Team 48."

Indiana will open the season on Feb. 26 at the Sleepy Hollow Complex in Leesburg, Florida with doubleheaders against Nebraska (Feb. 26), Wisconsin (Feb. 27) and Minnesota (Feb. 28).

Following a bye week, the Hoosiers will then return to the Complex for a three game series against Northwestern (March 11-12) and Rutgers (March 13-14).

The on campus Big Ten slate will consist of eight four-game series with one Friday game, a Saturday doubleheader and one Sunday game. Indiana opens up on campus play at Andy Mohr Field on the weekend of March 26 when they host Michigan (March 26-28).

Including Michigan, Indiana will host Ohio State (April 16-18), Michigan State (April 30-May 2) and Penn State (May 7-9). The Hoosiers will travel to Iowa (April 2-4), Purdue (April 9-11), Illinois (April 23-25) and Maryland (May 14-16).

There will not be a Big Ten conference tournament scheduled for this season.

First pitch times will be announced at a later date. All playing sites, start times and dates are subject to change.

Consistent with IU Athletics' ongoing efforts to protect the health and safety of students, coaches, staff, spectators and the local community, softball games will be played without fans indefinitely. IU Athletics' decision is in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and is consistent with what has transpired on all Big Ten campuses.

Still trying to figure out why they're playing in Leesburg lol. My grandma lived there, not a softball destination from what I could see.  No score updates yet, trying to keep an eye on Twitter

Game is on BTN+ (subscription of course which I know many do not have but I do). Reason games are in Florida is weather. While it is nice now today it could of easily been 30 and snowing and Big Ten moved them to warm climate to ensure they could be played with no cancellations.

Yeah, but Leesburg is kind of a dump tbh. Apologies if anyone lives there and I've offended.
