So this is random and idk who else thinks about this stuff....but if you met me you'd understand.... I bleed iu football more than basketball....but

What's everyone think the attendance will be like towards the beginning of the year (student and overall) and then depending on how we do....how many of the damn wishy washy fans do we gain or lose lol

I really think it will be about the same as last year. Will shoot up with some wins. I thought attendance was pretty decent last year.

It may go up a little if we do well, but I don't see a big jump. Our fanbase has developed a fear of having the rug pulled out from under it if they get too interested.

I was surprised with the student section turnout for most of the games!! Now it's keeping them there lol but I liked seeing some of the elders staying and supporting! We need to breed our kids to breathe cream and crimson and not just basketball lol

I was impressed with the attendance last season as well. That being said, you have to WIN AT HOME to keep the fans coming back. It's the same story every year of losing winnable games at home and then the fans stop coming.

I think the reason that the attendance was the way it was last year because they were almost over hyped. They were supposed to be a bowl team and some of the players were saying they could play for the Big Ten Championship. Then they didn't even get to a bowl game.
With that being said if they want to start the attendance the way they did last year they have to hype them as much but win more.
The student section went up and down last year. The Indiana State game, it was almost full and the same for the Navy game because of how well they played. Then they played awful the Navy game and it went down. Then they won vs Bowling Green and it went up and so on. The key to having good attendance is just winning games and being consistent.

Capacity is 52,929. Attendance avg has been around 44-45,000 the last two years. What usually happens is one game gets hyped early and gets pretty full, then we lose. We need to make a statement early. Support actually isn't that bad considering our history (Plus Glass did a lot. We once got 22,000 for Homecoming in DiNardo's last year).

Seriously lol. Every game at halftime I go out to our tailgate to get a couple beers... It will sometimes become difficult to go back inside. Sell beer inside, and I won't leave.
