What about giving the player the option to either..

1.) go to NBA straight from High School

or

2.) go to college for minimum of 2 years

If you are a crazy good HS player and can go pro immediately, then maybe they should be able to. But if the HS player wants to develop a bit more and raise their draft stock, they should be required to at least spend 2 years at the college level.  The one year thing bums me out and I like teams that have a bit more consistent rosters.  (like the hoosiers right now, lol)

But I think athletes look at that scenario and say what if that happens to me. They think, "That could be me and I lose my million or 2."
Not realistic but ..these are kids with little cash, looking for a dream, sooner than later. Crean rides the coattail of wade, Vic, and Cody to promote this as well. It's not the Indiana dream but the NBA dream.

I understand what you're saying, but I just don't believe that guys look at every serious injury and say "I have to get the money now".
