Considering his family history, it might seem a foregone conclusion that Eron Gordon ends up playing at Indiana.

The highly-touted guard certainly has insight into the program, having watched up close as brotherEvan played in Bloomington last season after transferring from Arizona State. Oldest brother Eric starred for the Hoosiers in 2007-08 before going to the NBA.

But the junior-to-be isn't ready to jump into a commitment — with IU or any other school — just yet. Though coaches can't contact him directly until June 15, a number of blueblood programs keep in touch with Gordon's family. Gordon said Duke, Kansas, Kentucky and Indiana are schools showing the most interest, though IU is the only program among those to offer a scholarship so far. He also has offers from Arizona State, Nebraska and Purdue.

THE GORDONS: Northside bunch becoming first family of Indy hoops

"I'm going to try to get to Kentucky pretty soon," he said, adding that he also has been trying to schedule a visit to Michigan. He said he doesn't have a timetable on making a college decision.

Gordon, who averaged 14.7 points and 2.6 assists as a sophomore at North Central, said he was able to learn about IU during multiple trips there last season.

"It's a great atmosphere," he said. "You start to see guys like Devin (Davis), who I played against, really develop from when I was playing against him."

The 6-2 Gordon had an up-and-down sophomore season. North Central finished 16-7 and lost in the sectional to Carmel.

"We weren't as strong as we thought we were going to be this year," he said. "It was a really tough year. The loss of Darius (Latham) hurt us mentally more than physically because he kept us together. But it was a really rocky season. (For Gordon) it was a rocky season. The beginning was great and the end wasn't very good at all. It was probably the worst basketball I've ever played. It was rocky back and forth, like our season."

Gordon said he's hoping Kentucky's John Calipari, Kansas' Bill Self and Duke'sMike Krzyzewski all reach out.

Eron Harris update

Highly-sought transfer Eron Harris will visit Michigan State on Saturday and make a return trip north June 6 and 7 to visit Michigan.

Harris, a former Lawrence North standout who played two seasons at West Virginia, has narrowed his choices to Purdue, Michigan and Michigan State. He has already visited Purdue.

Harris, who averaged 17.2 points as a sophomore at West Virginia, is expected to make a decision following his two upcoming visits. He will have to sit out next season before having two years of eligibility.

Harris shot 42 percent from the 3-point line last season at West Virginia.

Other basketball notes

Former Pike guard Taishaun Johnson, a 2013 graduate, has committed to South Alabama. The locally-basedEric GordonAll-Stars 17-and-under team went 6-0 in Orlando, Fla., last weekend and finished 14-2 and on top of their division after three Adidas Gauntlet events. The team's showing earns it a high seed for the Adidas 64 July 23-27 in Las Vegas. The EG10 All-Stars are led by Pike's Tahjai Teague, Center Grove's Michael Benkert, Ben Davis' Brennan Gillis, Park Tudor's Dwayne Gibson, Warren Central's C.J. Lacrosse state championships

Carmel won the boys lacrosse championship with an 18-5 win over Cathedral last weekend. Seth Mendell was named the offensive most valuable player and Alex Heger the defensive MVP.

The girls lacrosse state tournament will be this weekend at Brebeuf Jesuit. Culver Academies will play Carmel at 6 p.m. today, followed by Park Tudor versus Brebeuf Jesuit at 8. The finals will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Jalen Coleman was at Cathedral prior to La Lu transfer. We have a long history with the Gordon's but I am not sure this move is favorable for IU.

Fagan is coach at Cathedral???
