Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Woof. Two things can be true:

Mike Woodson is not the answer

 Neither is Dane Fife.

I don't think he should be the Coach but that is co-signing things we have heard about Woodson.

-Not a good leader or work environment?  Check

-Doesn't take the time or care enough about individuals to get personal things (like their name) right?  Check

I imagine that if things continue on the course they are on this year, more people are going to have "Hoosier Hysteric", Brian Evans, and now Dane Fife kind of things to say.

When Mike was hired: "I’ve been chosen to be the coach here and I’m going to try to tie it all together to make it all work, and we all will be one big family and win basketball games."

That sure didn't happen.

He is still the king of Indiana just doing his job. With 6 million dollar booster friends Woodson is just laughing at us all. Next year they probably give him 8 million. You can't expect big things with only 6 million. He needs at least 10 million to get things going

Does anyone find it curious that @steubenhoosier seems to never see the Hoosiers lose? Kind of convenient.

I guess that's how you become a true fan.

Just got out of meetings. Didn’t watch . Won’t comment on what I didn’t witness

Again, didn’t watch as the Thanksgiving crowd was half Michiganders and the Lions’ game took precedence.

Checked the score from time to time. At one point in the first half we were down 1, and I thought, okay this will be a bounce back game. Next time I looked we were down 18, still in the first half. Dinner and the football getting closer, and I didn’t see until the final score.

These can be the only losses until the Jan  11 game at Iowa. And in that game we better be more competitive than these two games.

Since I haven’t watched, I don’t know what the cause of this loss was. Some are alluding to guard play. If so, that’s a travesty.

Nine straight. That’s my benchmark. Any slip ups and time to move on

Didn’t watch. Office Christmas party. I did read that we scored 1 point over the last several minutes.
No excuse to lose this game. No excuse for this staff and team.

BTW. I do show up here when they lose and take being called out. Funny how most of the posters were on this thread were absent from the conversation after the positive performance v Minnesota.

Woodson did his job last night. He can't shoot for his 6 million dollar team.

Yes wait he’s gonna show you what it’s like to face a $10 million hump.

The cooks and Simon's are getting ready to write the check. 10 million gets you wine and cigars with the king.

you guys have an infatuation on calling me out.

Busy time of year. Other things in life take priority.

Sorry I can't live up to the high expectations of this board.

Thanks for the snark, regardless. Wouldn't expect anything less.

So I actually somewhat agree with Tyme.  There is a deeper issue than just Woodson.  There is an issue in the administration with the people who placed him in his position.  If we believe that Dolson was forced to accept Woodson by these people, I think letting this season bottom out may be the best course of action.  It would help to neuter the people who installed Woodson when it comes to picking the next guy.  "You know what?" everyone else thinks, "We let Dolson do his job unencumbered with football and we ended up in the CFP.  Maybe you guys sit this one out and let him do what we pay him to do."  I don't know if that happens if this season is saved.  You need Buckner and Ferguson and the money guys sidelined a bit.

Right, but are these people telling Woodson what offense/defense to run, how to practice, how to recruit?  I get that Woodson was not "qualified" to be a college coach, but my hope was he was going to man up, learn the game, learn recruiting, and make a difference.  Instead he took a dump at center court and told the "untrue" fans to go to hell.  That is not the administration doing any of that.

The administration could've realized there's a reason no one wanted Woodson to be the HC after the Knicks fired him, so they're complicit.

There may not be another coach in America who could screw up a 6 million dollar roster. Unfortunately, we have that 1 coach that will and nothing will change as long as Low Energy Mike is the head of the program

Sometimes I wonder if their plan all along was to try and get the diehard fans to finally just call it quits. They're tired of people complaining and holding them accountable, and this was their solution to just make those fans go away for good. We're seeing the impact with more and more empty seats appearing at home games. Apathy is reaching all time highs. Maybe they want the older crowd to just disappear and be replaced by younger fans whose only memories of IU basketball are hoping like hell to make the tournament. Then they'll have an easier, more relaxing job of IU being a nobody in men's basketball but still getting to brag about the banners.

(Ok, taking off the tin foil hat now)

Wow...never thought about this angle before...interesting!
