IU Baseball vs Bellarmine - March 9-12, 2023

We opened our 5-game series with Bellarmine yesterday and Hoosiers pulled out a 5-3 win after scoring 4 in the bottom of the 8th.  Hunter Jessee's consecutive game on-base streak is at 31 after he banged out 3 hits in yesterday's win.  Tibbits and Glasser each 2 hits of the team's 9 total hits.  Whalen 2 RBIs.  Risedorph started and pitched 4 innings allowing 4 hits and giving up 1 run.  4 more pitchers took the mound and as a whole the pitching staff allowed 12 Bellarmine hits but didn't walk a single batter.  We committed 3 errors.

In today's (Friday) game, we trailed 7-3 after 3 but scored 2 in the 4th and 3 in  the 5th to take an 8-7 lead into the 6th.  Seiler started but was pulled in the 2nd after giving up 5 hits and 4 runs.  Vega, Decker-Petty & Yoho have shared mound duties since then.  Colopy has 2 hits and 3 RBI.

FINAL: Indiana 9, Bellarmine 7

Down 7-2, Indiana rallies for another comeback victory. Morgan Colopy team-leading three RBI's, and had the go-ahead hit. Relievers Decker-Petty, Yoho, and Kraft tossed 6⅔ scoreless innings (Kraft's fourth save). Back tomorrow at 2pm.

Hoosiers win game number 3 of the series 13-3 pounding out 19 hits today.  Glasser goes 5-6; Taylor 4-4 and Tibbitts 3-5.  Glasser had 5 RBIs.  Sinnard went 5 innings giving up 5 hits, 2 BB and 9K.  He was charged with all 3 Bellarmine runs.  Phillips pitched 3 innings and Burton finished up the 9th.  We're now 9-6 on the season.

Sunday's game scheduled for a 1:00 start.

We sweep the series winning 3-2 today.  We had a total of 10 hits.  Cerny 3-4; Jessee and Taylor each 2-4.  Manase started and went 4.1 giving up 2 hits, 2 BB and 7 K.  Whiteaker and Kraft shared the remaining mound duties with Bellarmine scoring its 2 runs off Kraft in the 9th.  With today's win our season record is 10-6.

Jessee with 2 hits today and his consecutive game streak is at 34.

Tuesday night we'll be in Lexington, KY to play pUKe.  Next weekend we host Morehead State for a 3-game series.
