Game-high 29 points to pace the Bearcats' offense. She was 11-of-16 shooting from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

28p in a 55-32 win in the Benton Christmas Classic Tournament.  28 points which came on 12 of 15 field goal attempts and 4 of 4 free throws. 24 of those points came in the first half. She played only 3 quarters in the game as Christopher substituted freely in the final 8:00.

It was the Amiah Hargrove show in the third place game of the Benton Christmas Classic Thursday night in Rich Herrin Gym.  Christopher’s 6-2 junior scored 51 points during her team’s 60-36 win over Salem. Hargrove scored 11 of the Lady Bearcats’ 13 first-quarter points, accounted for 19 of 21 points in the second period, and added 16 of her team’s 19 in the third before exiting early in the fourth quarter due to the running clock rule.  Christopher (14-1) bounced back strong after suffering its first loss of the season in the semifinals earlier in the day, a 47-41 overtime defeat by tourney host Benton, when Hargrove ended with 24 points.   [NOTE:  She scored 55 points in an early December game.]

Christopher is 20-1.  Hargrove averaging:  27.0p; 9.4r; 1.5a; 2.7s; 1.3b; .9t     66% FG; 38% on 3s; 83% FT

She has already scored 1,500 points in her HS career.

Christopher, IL is a town of 2,400 located in Franklin Co., IL, approx. 20 miles northeast of Carbondale.  The high school enrollment at Christopher HS is less than 250.   She puts up gaudy stats but you do have to wonder what her stats would be if she were playing at a larger school and presumably a higher level of competition.   She does not have a recruit page on Raoul's wbbblog.com and the only offers that show up on Illinois-recruiting.com are from Arkansas State, Illinois and Missouri State so take it for what it's worth.

Christopher (23-2) beaten by Woodlawn (20-6) 59-38.  First time watching Hargrove play and while 1 game doesn't necessarily make for a fair assessment, she didn't pass the OF bifocaled eye test.  She finished with 8p; 4r; 1a; 4s; 1b; 1t.  4-13 FG and did not attempt a FT.

Her ytd numbers are gaudy but I really question the quality of her competition.  She's listed as 6'2" and I'm sure in most games she's the tallest girl on the floor.  Not so against Woodlawn who had 2 girls that were as tall or nearly as tall.  I thought she was extremely passive at both ends of the floor.  Would have expected her to at least attempt some FTs.  To me, she had very little vertical jumping ability and didn't seem particularly quick.  Very much right hand dominant when she did dribble.  Again, it's just one game but I watched Lilly Meister play numerous high school games and Lilly would have eaten her lunch if they'd gone head to  head.   Really curious to see if there's any real IU pursuit in her recruitment.

Hargrove scored 36 to lead Christopher past Neoga 50-45, sending the Lady Bearcats to the 1A state semifinals on Thursday vs. St. Thomas More.  She  scored 22 of her team’s 23 points spanning the end of the second quarter and start of the third, helping the Lady Bearcats turn a 19-14 deficit into a 37-28 lead.  The state finals will be  held on Saturday.
