In an afternoon game, Don Bosco defeated St. Augustine 55-48.  Harper 26p led all scorers.

Don Bosco Prep (17-2) on the road at Roselle Catholic (9-4) and lost 68-60.  RC team includes UNC commit Simeon Wilcher and Duke commit Mackenzie Mgabko.  I had Harper with 27p; 10r; 2a; 2s; 0b; 2t but DBP as a team simply didn't play well.  And in the 4th Q, Wilcher took the game over for RC and scored 11 of his 20 pts. in the 4th.

Don Bosco (18-2) advanced in the Bergen Co. Tournament with a 78-51 win over Northern Highlands (9-8).  Harper 33p; 11r; 4a; 3b.  Their semifinal game will be on Feb. 4, against Pascack Valley.

Tried to watch this one this morning and gave up. Don’t know how you did it. The camera being right down on the floor with the super narrow focus and the constant zooming in and out gave me a smoking headache after about a quarter and a half. Too bad. Really wanted to watch Mgbako.

That's an early declaration of a final five for a 2024 five star. It means we get one of his senior year official visits.

I wonder if his dad and Woody are well-acquainted - looks like they just missed each other at multiple stops, and that they both have ties to the Los Angeles area.

Would hate to see Rutger getting more and more talent. If Pikiell can get talent to buy into his system Rutger will be an even bigger pain moving forward. The other side of that is what happened with Painter and purdoodoo when he went after talent that didn't fit his culture.

I may be wrong, but I just do not see him going to Rutgers.

I believe he will want to go to a school where he is not known as "Ron Harper Jr's little brother."

Duke is surely the front-runner, but we have a puncher's chance.

Cupps working his butt off on the recruiting trail.  I've read he'll be in SSAH for the PUke game on Sunday with no doubt some high profile IU targets.
