Class of '66 Old Fart

(2025) - PG Jalen Haralson

Recommended Posts

On the heels of receiving an offer from Maryland we jumped in with an offer of our own.  Haralson attends Fishers HS in Fishers, IN and played AAU for Team Teague.  Considering he's just a high school freshman, there's not much out there about him other than a general consensus that he's really good at basketball.

From Trevor Andershock of Indiana Basketball Source.

The Indiana 2025 class is shaping up to be fantastic. Although just a freshman, Haralson is oozing with potential. So far, Haralson and Trent Sisley are head and shoulders above the rest of the in-state class. At Indiana Basketball Source’s THE TEST, Haralson measured 6’7” in shoes with a 6’7.5” wingspan and 37” max vertical jump. Additionally, he shows ball-handling and shooting skills like most upperclassmen. He enters high school ready to make a significant varsity impact as a freshman.

Video from THE TEST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyYnh-RdJ1M

His smooth jumper, especially off the dribble, is eye-catching. Of course, the way he finishes above with ease makes him stand out in a crowd, but his shooting and ball-handling make him a clear high-major prospect before playing a high school game.

It’s more than four years before Haralson steps onto a collegiate court, but he possesses all the tools to be an outstanding long-term prospect.

Yeah… he’s special.

A 6’7” Freshman PG?   Wow. Did he play PG in the opener?

Don't know about his opening game but in the game I'll describe below he did not play the PG position.

Watched '25 Jalen Haralson of Fishers HS vs. Indpls. Metro in a game played last night.  All but 1 of Fishers' home games will be available on its own Fishers Sports Network  https://team1sports.com/fishers/. Students do the play-by-play but at least in this first game they did a better job than some adults I've listened to.

Metro was totally outclassed and the final score was 77 - 47.  It was Senior Night and Fishers played nothing but seniors until a minute left in the 1st Q and Haralson entered the game.  He only played 4 min. in the 2nd Q and at most 7 in the 3rd and none in the 4th.  He scored 15 pts. on a perfect 7-7 FG and 1-2 FT; 1 asst; 2 stls.  Of his 7 FG, 4 were dunks; 2 were nice drives down the left side with pretty finishes.

You can watch this game at the website I cited above but the game was so one-sided and he played so few minutes I don't think it will give you any real feel for his game.

Last night Fishers defeated Noblesville 76 - 65.  Haralson 11 pts. on 4-5 FG; 1-2 on 3s; 2-4 FT; 3 reb; 3 asst; 2 stl; 3 TO; 1 blk.

Fishers has its own sports network and all one of this season's home games will be broadcast at no cost.

Saturday night Fishers defeated Mount Vernon 65 - 59.  Haralson with 6 pts on 3-5 FG; 0-1 on 3s; 0-1 FT; 3 reb; 1 asst; 1 stl; 1 TO.  With a minute left in the 2nd Q, he made a hard drive to the bucket and was fouled.  It wasn't a dirty foul but he fell and hit his head.  He eventually got up under his own power and headed to the locker room.  He was on the bench for the second half but did not play.  He's off until next Friday.

Fishers (5-0) defeated Columbus North (4-2) 57 - 40.   Haralson with 25 pts. on 12-17 FG; 1-2 on 3s; 3 reb; 1 asst; 2 stls.  He elevates well and keeps moving and cutting on the offensive end.  Most of his points came because his teammates found him in the paint and got him the ball.

In an afternoon game, Fishers (7-1) defeated Homestead (6-3) 50-48.  Haralson with 12 pts; 1 reb; 3 asst; 0 stl; 0 blk; 1 TO.  He was just 2-4 on FT but the 2 he made came with 24 sec. remaining in the game and made it 49-46.  FWIW, it will be very easy to  dislike Fletcher Loyer for the next 4 years at West Laffy.  What a whiner!

If you're interested the game is available on YouTube.

No kidding on the whining. Watched him vs Braden Smith at the Forum event and between the 2 of them it was tough to contain that much complaining on a single 94x50 court.

Haralson's 43-point game was a new Fishers HS record.  It was also the second game he played today.  They tipped off against Homestead at noon and then the Carroll game started at 6 p.m.  I scored him hitting 14-20 FG; 3-6 on 3s; 12-14 FT; 10 reb; 3 asst; 1 stl; 0 blk; 2 TO.  He runs the court very well and a number of his baskets came when he grabbed a defensive rebound and took it coast-to-coast.  You can watch this game.

On Dec. 11, Fishers was beaten by Carmel 44-39.  Haralson with 9 pts. and no reb.  He was matched up for most of the game against possible IU target '23 Sam Orme who also finished with 9 pts. and 4 reb.  The game is available at ----
