I got an email from someone who would know last Monday saying all assistants had been hired but just wouldn't all be announced at the same time. So they waited 4 days to start his paperwork. That is why Lewis never got an offer, we already had who we wanted.

That makes sense to wait and let him do a little unofficial recruiting since he wasn't employed by another school like Fife was.

Any idea of players they might have been going after?

No, most likely high school kids though since the dead period is in place until June or July as things stand right now.

As long as IU is with Adidas they won't get Bronny. Lebron is Nike's highest paid athlete.

Way, way, way back in the day, Valpo's Roger Harden played at Kentucky, which had switched to Nike. Harden's dad worked for Converse, so Eddie Sutton allowed Roger to keep wearing Converse.

Let's bring the lad aboard and let him wear his Nikes -- LOL!

Side note: How Harden was Mr. Basketball over Scott Skiles is beyond me -- and Valpo is 10 miles from where I grew up, so I saw Roger play many times. (Although Skiles didn't have the greatest of reputations -- that probably factored in a little).

Anyone hear anything on if Yasir is bringing Jabari with him or no?

Nothing more than wishful thinking. I'd put that at about a 1% chance but you never know.

So since folks were also saying Lewis was a possibility I wonder if it was an either or between him and Fife. Once we had Fife we had not more room.

If I remember correctly Skiles went nuts in the state tournament his senior year. I lived in Terre Haute and all you heard on the radio and read in the newspaper was about the monster games he was having.

I assume Dane was the first choice, Lewis was 2nd but we were not taking both. Once Dane said yes we were good there

Makes sense. Once we kept Hunter and hired Fife, it was a good move to look outside the program. As a fan, it'd be great to have Fife and Lewis on staff, but Woody needs at least one guy he trusts and has a previous relationship with. I am pumped that we have a "shooting specialist" that can help develop our perimeter guys!
