Indiana Women's Soccer will head to Ann Arbor, Michigan to face the Wolverines on Sunday, March 28. The match will be live on Big Ten Network at 3 p.m. ET.

SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES
Michigan (5-2-2) is coming off a dominating 2-0 win against Illinois on Thursday, March 25. Senior Nicki Hernandez scored her second gamewinner in the 18th minute. The Wolverines have netted 20 goals this season. Hernandez leads the Wolverines offense with five goals followed by freshman Sammi Woods with four. Michigan has found the net 20 times this season and held its opponents to just over half with 11.
 
The Wolverines hold a 17-5-4 advantage over Indiana. Last season in Ann Arbor, they went into double overtime draw as they saw a 0-0 decision. IU had four shots on goal while goalkeeper Bethany Kopel recorded six saves.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Indiana women's soccer conceded a 2-0 contest to the Ohio State Buckeyes at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Senior Goalkeeper Bethany Kopel recorded a season high seven saves against the Buckeye's offense.  Junior Oliwia Wos gave the Hoosiers their best chance off a free kick in the 31st minute after when the ball curved straight, but Ohio State's goalkeeper was there for the save. On a breakaway, senior Melanie Forbes took one last shot in the 87th minute but couldn't capitalize off the momentum.
 
WOS EARNS WEEKLY HONORS
Indiana women's soccer junior defender Oliwia Wos is the second player to be named to TopDrawerSoccer's National Team of the Week this season after senior Melanie Forbes won Player of the Week on March 2. This accolade comes off a 1-0 victory as the Hoosiers blanked Wisconsin on Sunday. Wos held the back line strong to help Indiana secure the shutout win against Wisconsin on Sunday. She serves as a leader for the Indiana back line as she helped limit Wisconsin to only three shots on goal. Wos also earned her seventh consecutive start for Indiana and played the entire 90 minutes.
 
NEW HOOSIERS HAVE IMMEDIATE IMPACT
•Indiana women's soccer welcomed six new freshmen to Hoosier Nation. Four freshmen have earned starts in the first five games of the season - Anna Aehling, Anna Bennett, Gabi Rennie and Jen Blitchok. Sofia Black and Zoe Tiger have also provided great minutes off the bench for the Hoosiers.
 
•Bennett and Aehling are the only two freshmen who have started in all five of IU's games this season. Bennett, Aehling earned their first career point after dishing out assists.
 
•Freshman forward Jen Blitchok recorded her first points after netting a brace in Indiana's 3-2 victory over Maryland on March 7. She is the second Hoosier to earn a brace this season. Senior Melanie Forbes also scored a pair of goals against Iowa on Feb. 28.
 
NEWS AND NOTES
•The Hoosiers are 4-4-0 to start the season. A win would set a new record of conference wins under head coach Erwin van Bennekom after Indiana went 4-5-3 in conference play in his first year as Indiana's head coach.
 
•Indiana has shutout its opponent three times this season.
 
•Eight different Hoosiers have recorded a point along with five assists on eight goals.
 
•Senior goalkeeper Bethany Kopel has earned four victories this season along with three shutouts.  Another win for Bethany Kopel will tie two others (Lauren Hollandsworth, Stacey Van Boxmeer) in third place with the Big Ten record for most wins in a single season (5). Kopel ranks second with 26 and counting for most career victories in the Indiana women's soccer program.  She also holds Indiana's program record for career shutouts with 21 and the most shutouts in a season with nine.
 
• Kopel recorded a new season high with seven saves against Ohio State.
