I said this afternoon. It’s 2pm my time. And for those who think I’m full of ****, I told Chris via PM a few weeks ago who my biggest “national” connection is. He’s an AP voter out east. Do you want me to share or not? Chill out.

Not that but I can't imagine coming to a board and saying I hope that I hear Greg McDermott has said no today. Just seems weird to me. But to each their own. If someone said I have good information on Scott Drew I'm going to be like yeah let's go. He's not my top 5 choice but I'm all for it. I don't not root for anyone besides Chris Beard

Alright, I misunderstood and mainly agree, on all accounts. We completely agree on Beard.

Dammit, RTZ.

You're supposed to live in the Eastern time zone. LOL

Yeah, I truly don't think the Archie hire was a miss at the time. He was the hottest name in coaching circles. He just didn't work out it happens.

Now....Mike Woodson was a terrible hire and Quinn Buckner sucks.

Hold up hold up hold up…. Had Fred Glass or anyone actually understood the job at IU and had a 5 min conversation with Archie they would realize he’s a terrible fit…. Hiring a terrible fit when it’s obvious that he fails at what I would argue is second to winning, which is being the spokesperson for IUBB…

While I think Woodson is a terrible coach, that hire was better. He checked off “former player”, dealt with NBA which could bode well for the NIL era, got us to the tourney, got talent to IU. You can make an argument that Woodson could do better at IU vs Archie if you were interviewing both at the same time

Archie was a worse hire, way worse

I appreciate you. I can't count out any candidate right now for sure. I would say I would fall out of my chair if it was Chris Beard but not saying we miss on 15 people and he gets it. I highly doubt it but to say someone is out right now is crazy. Brad might say no and Andy Mohr comes back with 15 million a year and he takes the job. No one knows right now

Andy Mohr, I looked at his inventory but he didn't have exactly what I wanted. I had to drive all the way to Castrucci's in Cincinnati to get my Crimson Red VW Atlas. Sorry Andy Mohr, that could have helped with the bump up if needed! lol

I respectfully disagree.

But I support your posting.  /s

Archie personally had the intangibles on the court. He had the personality and charisma of a rabid raccoon in your trash can.

Coaching is like Teaching. It’s a skill that encompasses the entire human being. Hard to be a fantastic teacher if your personality sucks.

I hope we hire someone with basic interpersonal skills who’s also more exciting than a plain baked potato.

This times 100000!!! Also if you can't connect with people or build relationships, you are SOL as a teacher/coach. I too agree this is what sunk Archie Miller.

Not to harp on Rabby but in what world did people think that Mike Conley wasn't a big-time recruit? He had scholarship offers from every school imaginable. I remember officiating his AAU games and every coach under the sun was there.

When Rabby would talk about Braden Smith, he would talk about his defensive inefficiencies as a reason he might not be a top power conference recruit. I think Rabby is projecting his own change in thought onto everyone else.

What decision-maker is he close to? Dolson? I don't think he is telling people who he is hiring. There are 4 people I know of who are putting up the money for the next coach. I have talked to people close to 3 of the 4. They all are sticking by Brad for now. The least of what they have said is he hasn't said no. So I'm just not sure who he is talking about. I believe someone is telling him that, I was told the HC guys were saying he wasn't coming but I don't know that. I'm happy to say he's not coming but I just haven't been told that. I think we have a lot of good choices this time so I'm not worried. Me personally wouldn't take Dusty off the table yet
I am guessing ferguson is not one of those putting up money!!
