I’ve been lurking here for a couple of days and have really enjoyed the read. Place me in the category of hoping for Stevens but pessimistic about the chances. Brad seems like a straight shooter to me and his V-Day comment, while not as staunch as the Masshole proclamation, suggests to me that he is out. I pray I’m wrong. But for those that don’t understand why he’d leave the NBA front office of one of its premier teams, I’d just argue that he has a chance to be a legend. Nobody will remember the president of the Celtics who helmed a handful of championships, but Brad could own Indiana. He could have a statue. He could have the new basketball stadium named after him.  But, he seems like a good man with little ego unlike us mere mortals.

Welcome, nice post, also what is Brad Stevens doing talking to Goodman on Valentine's Day? Have we not rabbit holed how absurd that would be on its face? *Puts on tinfoil hat*

Sorry I can’t get it squared up for you. I think Scott was more about building a relationship with him than talking details. But I’ll take what info you have.

I haven’t got much solid info—just some reasonable hunches.  A friend who is very connected with Varsity Club told me on 2/14 they were taking a “big run” at Brad.  Not clear if it had happened by that date or not.  I do know two people who would absolutely have been contacted to ante up—but haven’t asked what they know.

Again—I just can’t get past what has substantially changed since the last run at Brad.  He had his eye on the NBA going back to his Butler days.  The Celtics is the one job that pulled him away from college.  He seems happy and content, as does his family.
