Kaiden Shedrick from Virginia is someone to keep an eye on for IU when he hits the portal.

He is more of the athletic big I was hoping to see us go after. He wasn't great offensively but I am hoping for us not to be a low post offensively team any longer

Durr isn’t close to what Sparks is.  Sparks was better at a freshman than Durr was at any point in his career.

FWIW, Sparks is a very good passer from the post.

So who does he resemble on Miami, or any of the other final 4 teams?

This. Also Sparks has a good motor if you are an intangibles guy, and I think the staff could pull more out of him, see TJD's development.

Nothing against the kid, but what does sparks have that Michael Durr didn’t?  Not sure I see a change of program philosophy with him being the first get.  As a player to be named later, sure.

A bit more athletic, higher amount of minutes played, higher FG%, higher REB avg, higher AST avg, more PTS per game, is from the state of Indiana so understands the culture here, coached by an ex IUBB player and other differences fellow users have pointed out.

Guess I'm ordering my tickets for Phoenix then.  :)

Not sure how to feel about Sparks. A lot of the talk over the past two seasons was how Woody didn’t want to play the type of offense we did but had to because of the personnel we had. Sparks seems to fit how we’ve played in the past, not how Woody purportedly wants to play moving forward.

I'm under the same assumption. Could you elaborate? I'm not familiar with the Ball St. offense Lewis runs.

How so? Sparks gives IU a post option without requiring the touches or the offense to be run through him as TJD did. We're never going to be completely devoid of post play, barring massive recruiting failures.
