We offered pretty late in Malik Reneau's recruitment (July '21) and although he listed us in his top 7 on August 1, he committed to Florida on Sept. 1.

I would guess having JHS gets IU a bigger look this time around and maybe get him on campus for a visit.   Easiest for him might be following his coach to Georgia and staying in the same conference

Believe he’s a FL native, too, not just an out-of-state Montverde player.

Many were watching to see if Nijel Pack would be a portal entry.  NOPE!

NBA Draft:

Is he projected in any mock drafts? Seems like an odd choice but good for him.

Exactly, it's an extended process now

It is, and it presents another challenge for coaches.  Right now a coach has to ensure the players he needs come back, explore the portal, explore any quality decommits, and deal with his own players that may wish to explore the NBA route.

Timing will be everything.  Who do you target? How long do you wait on their decision, etc..  I don't envy those coaches having to "spin all those plates".

SG Antonio Reeves from Illinois State just entered the portal and is a Junior from Chicago, stats:

size: 6’6” 190

20.1 ppg, 3.5 RPG, 1.8 APG;  76/195 = 39% on 3’s

This guy officially has my attention. Good length, active on defense, can create for himself off the dribble going towards the basket or creating space on the perimeter, and seems to have deep range (lots of 3's 2-4 feet beyond the line). Has played well anytime the competition has ratcheted up as well. 27 points vs Wisky & 19 vs Murray State this year, 17 & 7 vs Ohio State last year.
