I see this repeatedly asserted with NO basis.

He is an excellent student and would be going into his third year of college. What the hell is this narrative based on, other than people who are pissed he didn’t go to IU projecting.

This so much

Don’t get the trashing of Brooks he had a PER of over 19. Was he ready for the NBA not at all but kid was a talented player.  His shooting means he probably wouldn’t fit Woodsons system but kid would be a stud in a lot of systems.

When was the last time this dude even pretended to be a quality journalist

He’s not pretending to be an analyst for The Economist. He’s a sports opinion guy who is having fun with an engaged fan base.

Brumdog and Coach Fife have it right—fire back with good humor and enjoy!

Well it  would be an either or situation as for Brooks if he enters the portal. Either a current Hoosier "chooses" to continue his playing career elsewhere or Brooks wont be a Hoosier.

It would work itself out...without everyone pilling on either potential new recruits (he didn’t want us enough before, so F’em!!) or taking apart existing players (can’t shoot, marginal B1G level talent), etc. Let’s not knit pick analysis and get super negative on either side. The college ball player market is as fluid as it gets...and that’s likely staying. Don’t fight the flow...buy a raft, enjoy the river ride...and let’s Win Baby!!

And trust Woodson who seems to be universally loved by players he has coached.

Mod: let’s get back on topic
Other mod: off topic!

Haha good ****!!

On topic: transfers, lots and lots of transfers. We should legitimately not have any fall off year to year because we can address any roster issues with viable transfers after each season.

If Brooks wants to learn from CMW and also to be part of his IU revival project, I'd welcome him wholeheartedly. Why not? He's a definite upgrade to our roster. I saw his sophomore highlights, and honestly we don't have enough players of his caliber in terms of raw talent and athleticism. Some of us are talking about his 3 point shooting, but our returning players didn't shoot well beyond the arc anyway. If they shot well, we would've still had Archie.

It's would not be the welcoming of Brooks, it would be the Creaning of a guy you just asked weeks ago to stay and buy into the Hoosier Nation family that is at issue.

Why do you insist on feeding the trolls?

By feeding the trolls, do you mean actually stating what happened?

Nelly Cummings recommitted to Colgate and Goodman tweeted about how good Colgate was going to be.  This was in the exact same time period in which Tamar Bates and Miller Kopp committed to IU and he tweeted nothing about either one.

Goodman is Goodman. He’s mainly joking around...don’t take it personally.

Oh, I don't take it personally.  It's the exact same mantra he always replies with on these kind of things -- when called out,  he resorts to some hyperboilc statement that no one said.

I know what you're saying. It could sound hypocritical that we use the word 'family', and on the other hand we kick out players who are willing to stay and work hard. But at this point, creating a winning program is the most important thing; without winning, there won't be a family. Also, being a family is a two way street; from a player's perspective, a student-athlete must want to be a part of it and have strong conviction that playing for IU would be his best interest. From IU's perspective, players should be worthwhile; every basketball scholarship is, for IU, a valuable investment. In other words, going forwards in CMW era, each player has to meet certain level of quality standards in both basketball and non-basketball to become a family.
