ABOUT THE BUCKEYES
Ohio State is coming off back-to-back ranked wins over No. 11 Michigan and No. 7 Maryland on its home court. They are paced by sophomore guard Jacy Sheldon's 18.0 points per game while sophomore guard Madison Greene adds 15.0 points per game. They are one of the highest scoring offenses in the Big Ten, averaging 85.3 points per game this season.

NOTES

Indiana returns home for the first time in over two weeks – last playing at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Jan. 10 against Wisconsin.

They are coming off a 74-61 win over Northwestern on Sunday. Sophomore forward Mackenzie Holmes led the way with 22 points and 10 rebounds which earned her a spot on the Big Ten Player of the Week honor roll.

The Hoosiers come in at No. 9 in the current NET rankings as the highest rated Big Ten team.

A win on Thursday would push the Indiana women's basketball program to its 800th program win. In its 47 seasons, IU has amassed a 799-647 record.

Sophomore forward Mackenzie Holmes leads the way in scoring for IU this season with 17.9 points per game. She's currently on an eight-game double figure scoring streak and has three double-doubles this season. The Gorham, Maine native also adds 7.0 rebounds per game and leads the team with 2.8 blocks per game, which is second in the Big Ten.

Junior guard Grace Berger also continues to excel for the Hoosiers, averaging 15.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game this season. She's scored in double figures in the last seven games of the season.

IU continues to be one of the nation's best in protecting the basketball, as it commits just 10.2 turnovers per game. That mark ranks third in the country and second in the Big Ten.

Thursday's game against Ohio State was moved up a week on the Indiana schedule with the original game date set for Thursday, Feb. 4. The move helps accommodate for other rescheduling around the league.

IU is 9-3 and 7-1 not 7-3 and 5-1.

IU Wins Thursday they take the Big Ten lead. Both games are at home and this is a chance to dispose of two teams toward the top of the conference this week and open up a lead on everyone not named Maryland which they already started to do. OSU, Michigan and MSU are the other teams closest to them and they have two of the three this week and the third in Michigan is shut down for COVID.

Reality is if IU wants a chance to beat Maryland for title they need to lose at most once or maybe win out. In terrific position for second if they take care of business as they play every team around them still besides Maryland so with wins can keep those other teams behind in standings as they are now.

I didn't fact check, just copied it off the IUHoosiers.com site.  Their bad; my bad.

Not surprised. They make mistakes in the notes a lot there but they are definitely 9-3 and 7-1 not what's in the notes:). It probably got copied from two games ago by mistake.

First place on line and like Maryland, OSU has been our kryptonite but we nearly beat them last two games despite a long losing streak. As I said I have come to the conclusion winning conference is unlikely but finishing ahead of Mich and OSU is a must. IU has 4 easy games down stretch (PU, Ill, PSU and Wisconsin), two should win tougher home games (MSU, Iowa) and four pure tossups (@iowa, OSU home and away, Mich). To me you need to win the 6 I said in first two groups and at worse split the tossups for a 15-3 record. Anything less is a disappointment.

As an aside Rutgers has been out over a month with COVID. At this point with them being a pretty bad team, Big Ten needs to tell them they have one more week to get it under control or they cannot play again this year and expose other teams. No excuse to have a COVID stoppage of 5 weeks unless you have not been following proper COVID protocol with quarantine and contact tracing in which case they cannot subject other teams to it.

Ladies and gents, how is everyone? It’s been a while, but figured it was high time I get myself back involved with y’all. Girls look ready for this one tonight. Definitely a statement game opportunity. You’ve got an OSU team with a spotlight on it after beating undefeated Michigan and always dominant Maryland. Would resonate a bit louder than usual to get a win against the Buckeyes tonight.

A few straight possessions of turnovers let them eat away at our early lead, but the defense is playing well. Two thoughts: I’ve said it before, but Patberg gets due respect as our vocal leader of this team - but as Berger goes, so go the Lady Hoosiers. She’s the difference in us being good and great. Thought two: Cardano-Hillary has just not been what I thought she would be coming in. Just not an impact player at this level.

That was a bad turnover by Gulbe. Grabbed the board, you’re on a 6-0 run and up 7, but you try to outlet pass quick when OSU is pressing high up the court instead of hurrying back on defense after misses. If she just holds the ball and gets it to a guard you’ve got possession trying to go up 9. Instead they drill a three and it’s a 4 point game. Gotta be smart.

A light press shouldn’t be this disruptive. Need to slow down and use the bounce pass instead of trying to throw everything over the top.

I don't think they read your post about bounce passes.

Second half starts with 2 more turnovers.
