Please delete this post if I’m getting absurdly greedy or forward thinking, but, with the NCAA allowing all athletes another year of eligibility, what are the odds Philyor, Fryfogle, and McFadden decide to stick around for a shot at the playoff?

I’ll see myself out.

Next to zero if they have a chance to play on Sundays. And can't blame them

Not sure about first two but McFadden is only a junior.

For context below is the list of Graduates, 5th Years and Seniors this season.  My biggest concern is the OL since CTA could potentially lose Crider, Nworah, and Powell.  I feel 'fine' at receiver, d-line, and specialists if younger players continue to develop & step up, and I have no reason to think they won't.

Powell was granted an extra year of eligibility, he’ll be back.

Correct. This year doesn't count for towards eligibility.

The question will be, which players 'want' to come back for the 2021 season?  I can see some of the men who have been in Bloomington for five years or so being ready to move on and start that next chapter, e.g. similar to how we think about Joey Brunk on the court.

Looking at 247, CTA has 13 commitments for next year plus the FSU transfer, Matthews.  14 is a smaller class than what we have traditionally seen in Bloomington so I am sure the staff has solid expectations for which players are/are not sticking around.  Either way, the scholarship numbers always work themselves out.

I get what you're saying, but just to clarify: Players with exhausted eligibility that decide to return next year will not count towards the 85 scholly limit. I cited Dylan Powell above, with the extra year he was already granted, he will still count toward the 85 limit. If Jerome Johnson wants to take the NCAA up on their offer of a freebie year, he can return and it doesn't count towards the 85 limit. We were going to have a small class anyway. If all those guys listed above decide to return it won't effect the incoming class size.

I would be shocked if Fryfogle returns. Philyor seems possible. He's a solid college receiver and I love him, but not sure he has a pro football career ahead of him.

As other have mentioned, O-line is the unit that needs the most help on the entire team, in my opinion.
