What is definition of elite; characteristics and qualifications for elite program?

Well according to this Bleacher Report Article.

5. A rabid fanbase

4. Long-term recruiting success

3. Player development emphasis

2. March madness success

1. Exceptional leadership

I agree with HH that we are becoming such a program but only time will be the true definer.

Ladies basketball program knocking on the door with another step or 2 upwards and sustain it throughout T. Moren era and transition it into next coaching era.

IU men’s basketball was elite 25 years ago and is a has been with some success here and there under B.K.Davis and T.C...Currently, not even close.  Arguably, an average to little above average program….but agree 100% time will be true definer as sustainability has to continue in a coaching era and transition into the future coaching era/s.

Extra note since I've been watching the IU-related FIBA games on YouTube: That block by Garzon was on a potential game-winning 3, and she tipped it off the German player after the block to regain possession: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CqmV5M3c-Q&t=7100s

I'm excited about Garzon and her hustle during that play was outstanding.  But unless the rules are different there it was a blown call.  She was well out of bounds, with a foot on the ground, when she tipped it off of the German player.

Garzon had herself a heck of a tournament. Very nice!
