Part of me thinks Lundardi does those kind of late season shifts by looking at other bracketologist's brackets and shifting teams that he doesn't have in the tournament but others do.  Indiana is in the tournament in 55 of the 109 brackets posted on the bracket matrix.  First team out is Stanford, in on 31.

I just think he knows how to keep fans interested and get espn clicks.   People are losing their mind about Auburn in are right around the bubble.  Joe knows like me if they are not 2 games over .500 they are probably not getting in plus whenever they lose they will have 16 losses which no team has gotten in with 16 losses.   Auburn will eliminate themselves whenever they lose and he knows that but putting them in until then keeps the conversation and drama going.  Godfather of bracketology knows what he is doing

Since the 2002-2003 season(the year after they went to the Final game) IU has only beaten 2 Power 5 teams in the NCAA tourney. The rest of their wins are to mid major conference teams

2002-03 - 10 seed Alabama 

2015-16 4 seed Kentucky

They have  a win against the Zags however that was before they were the current Zags.  Zags were a 10 seed when IU beat them

Maryland and Iowa early game today. Maryland up to #137 in the NET - if they win today, that likely gives IU another Quad 2 victory.

It's all just further evidence of how bad CAM and Woodson were. 

We had SW16's under Crean, he was wacky, often embarrassing, usually had mediocre defensive teams, and he was no Sampson coaching wise, but we won a lot with him.

I do think DeVries will have us back at least at that level in another season or so. This season isn't going where I thought it would in his first season, but he's clearly a good coach and miles better than Miller or Woodson.

Yeah what I was pointing out was the lack of wins against Power 5 teams in the tourney not the runs.    Crean beat Chattanooga, New Mexico st, VCU, Temple, James Madison and    Kentucky was the only power 5 team he beat.

If IU was consistently relevant on the national basketball scene, those titles would matter more. But the shine from those national championships is becoming dimmer and dimmer with each passing year of irrelevance. If IU doesn't figure out how turn the program around, perhaps someday in the not so distant future, those titles will be seen like the Ivy League college football titles of the early 20th century. 

IU has won as many basketball titles as anyone else in the B1G in the last 25 years. It's not just IU which in a title drought.
