Kinda wondered if Yeagley would get the recognition. Sometimes they like to give it to guys that overachieve. Guess 8-0 was enough lol

Hoosiers Lead Big Ten in All-Conference Accolades

The Indiana men's soccer team dominated the 2019 Big Ten Conference postseason awards, the league announced Friday afternoon.

For the second year in a row, the Hoosiers led the conference with 12 overall Big Ten postseason honors. Indiana finished with two first-team selections, five overall team selections, and three specialty award winners.

Sophomore defender Jack Maher and freshman midfielder Aidan Morris each claimed a spot on the All-Big Ten First Team, while freshman midfielder Joshua Penn, senior defender Simon Waever, and redshirt junior defender Spencer Glass were named to the 2019 All-Big Ten Second Team.

Freshman forward Herbert Endeley joined both Morris and Penn on the 2019 All-Big Ten Freshman Team. The three Indiana players named to the all-rookie team tied a program-best mark and is the most since garnering three selections in 2017.

Maher was also tabbed the 2019 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, while Morris racked up 2019 Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors.

Indiana head coach Todd Yeagley was named Big Ten Conference Coach of the Year for the third time. He had previously claimed the award in the 2010 and 2018 seasons. Yeagley helped guide the Hoosiers to a 7-1-0 record in conference play and the 16th regular season conference title in program history. Indiana is unblemished in the last 40 home matches (27-0-13) against Big Ten opponents.

Rounding out the Indiana honors, Maher was one-of-nine players selected as a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.

Indiana holds the No. 1 overall seed in the 2019 Big Ten Conference Championship. The Hoosiers will host a quarterfinal matchup at 1 p.m. on Nov. 10 at Bill Armstrong Stadium against the winner of No. 8 Ohio State and No. 9 Rutgers. Tickets for the match can be purchased here

JACK MAHER
Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year / First Team All-Big Ten / Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Honoree
Maher started the season receiving nods as a MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List player, a Second-Team Preseason All-American by Top Drawer Soccer, and a Third-Team Preseason All-American by College Soccer News. He has anchored a defensive back line that has surrendered 15 goals in 17 matches this season, the second-lowest figure in the Big Ten. Maher has tallied eight points (three goals, two assists) for the Hoosiers and has netted two game-winning tallies this season, a golden goal against UCLA and a 28th minute goal from the spot at Michigan State. He was twice named to the TDS Team of the Week and collected Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 4 and Nov. 5.

AIDAN MORRIS
Big Ten Freshman of the Year / First Team All-Big Ten / All-Big Ten Freshman Team
Morris has been sensational since he stepped on campus. A member of the second-ranked recruiting class, Morris has scored 10 points (two goals, six assists) during his debut season. All 10 points have come during league play. He has been named to the TDS Team of the Week twice and added two Big Ten Offensive Player of Week laurels. He posted two multi-assist games and finished third among Big Ten leaders with six assists. Morris tallied goals against Rutgers and Wisconsin.

JOSHUA PENN
Second Team All-Big Ten / All-Big Ten Freshman Team
Penn secured 12 points (five goals, two assists), the second-highest point total for the Hoosiers, this season. He is a key member of the IU offensive attack that posted a Big Ten-high 34 goals. Penn notched five multi-point games as he tied for the team-lead with five goals this season. He recorded his first-career brace in the final regular season home game of the year for IU and scored back-to-back game-winning goals against Sacramento State and Northwestern.

SPENCER GLASS
Second Team All-Big Ten
Glass, a 2019 team captain, served an integral part of the Indiana defensive back line that has surrendered 15 goals in 17 matches this season, the second-lowest figure in the Big Ten. He scored the eighth-fastest goal to open a game in program history just 53 seconds into the convincing victory over Evansville. Glass contributed nine points (three goals, three assists) to the Hoosier attack and added a game-winning wondergoal against Michigan.

SIMON WAEVER
Second Team All-Big Ten
Waever, a graduate transfer from Evansville, helped to solidify a defensive back line that has surrendered 15 goals in 17 matches this season, the second-lowest figure in the Big Ten. He tallied three assists on the season out of the defensive half.

HERBERT ENDELEY
All-Big Ten Freshman Team
Endeley set the pace up front for the Hoosier offensive attack that posted a Big Ten-high 34 goals this season. His collegiate career began with a bang when he scored a golden goal winner in Indiana's 3-2 overtime season-opening triumph over Pittsburgh.
