Hoosiers tack on 2 more goals for a final score of 6-0  and move to 4-1-1 on the season.  In tonight's game it was total Hoosier domination as SEMO never got off a single shot.  Hoosiers had 24 shots with 18 of them on goal.  

Next Thursday night they host Murray State and then on Sunday travel to Manhattan, KS to face Kansas St.  B1G season opens on the 19th at home against Michigan State.

Within the first 18 minutes of the match Indiana had a 3-0 lead and by halftime they had netted six goals in a 6-0 victory over Southeast Missouri State on Sunday at Bill Armstrong Stadium. The six goals was the most for a half in program history and tied for third most in a match in program history.
 
KEY MOMENTS
• Jen Blitchok struck first for the Hoosiers in the ninth minute to the bottom left of the goal to give the Hoosiers a 1-0 lead.
• Jordyn Levy scored in the 11th minute with a strike to the right corner.
• In the 18th minute Alaina Kalin played a beautiful ball into Avery Lockwood, who eluded her defender and scored.
• In the 22nd minute Indiana was awarded a free kick on a foul. Anna Bennett took the kick and blasted it to the top of the goal to put Indiana up 4-0.
• Sofia Black scored in the 36th minute off a rebound to put the Hoosiers up 5-0.
• Jen Blitchok served a ball to Bria Telemaque to put the Hoosiers up 6-0 in the 42nd minute.
 
NOTABLES
• The Hoosiers improved to 4-1-1 on the season and Southeast Missouri State drops to 2-4 on the season.
•  The six goals by Indiana is their most goals in a match since they scored nine against Temple on September 6, 1998.
• The Hoosiers six goals were scored by six different players.
• 27 different Indiana players saw action in the match.
• The Hoosiers held a 24-0 shot advantage over Southeast Missouri State.

After scoring two goals this past week, including a game winner against Western Michigan, Indiana women's soccer forward Jordyn Levy has been selected the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the league announced today.
 
In addition to her goal against Western Michigan, Levy scored one of six Hoosiers goals in a 6-0 win over Southeast Missouri State. The six goals were the most an IU women's soccer team has scored in a match since the 2011 season. It was also the most scored in a half in program history.
 
Levy, a native of Dix Hills, N.Y., has played in all five matches for Indiana this season and leads the team with three goals on the season.
 
The last Hoosiers to win the Big Ten freshman of the week award was Bethany Kopel in the 2017 season.
 
Up next the Hoosiers host Murray State on Thursday Sept. 9 at 7pm at Bill Armstrong Stadium. Admission is free for all home regular season women's soccer matches.

 The Indiana women's soccer team (4-1-1) will host Murray State on Thursday Sept. 9 at 7pm at Bill Armstrong Stadium and travel to Kansas State for a match on Sept. 12 at 1pm.

SCOUTING MURRAY STATE
Murray State comes into the match with a 4-1 record on the season. The Racers have won two straight (Florida Atlantic and Florida International) after a 2-1 loss to Xavier. Murray State finished with a record of 9-2 in the spring 2021 season. They have 10 goals scored on the year led by Abby Jones who has three goals and one assist.
 
SCOUTING KANSAS STATE
The Wildcats are 4-2 on the season. After starting the season with a loss to Weber State, Kansas State has won four of their last five matches. The Wildcats travel to Purdue for a Thursday night match before returning home to play the Hoosiers.

Hoosiers get on the board first on a goal by Jordyn Levy on an assist by Lilly Strader in 29'.  That's now three consecutive matches for Levy with a goal and her fourth of the year.

 Paige Webber is the 8th player in IU women's soccer history to record a hat trick!

Paige Webber came into the match against Murray State with one shot on the season and left with three goals as the Indiana women's soccer team won 4-0 against the Racers on Thursday at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
 
KEY MOMENTS
• In the 29th minute Jordyn Levy picked up where she left off as Oliwia Vos played a beautiful ball and Levy headed it in to put the Hoosiers on the board.
• In the 44th minute Webber scored her first goal on an assist from Melanie Forbes and she put it in the back of the net from just outside the six yard box.
• In the 65th minute Webber picked back up the scoring on an assist from Camille Hamm, which Webber chipped over the goal keeper.
• Webber completed the hat trick in the 72nd minute on a ball from Jen Blitchok just past midfield, who hit a running Webber, who played it off her left foot to the right corner of the goal.

NOTABLES
• The Hoosiers improved to 5-1-1 on the season.
• Indiana has scored a combined 10 goals in their last two matches.
• Paige Webber is the eighth player in IU women's soccer history to record a hat trick in a match and first since 2013.

Women (5-1-1) are in Manhattan, KS tonight for an 8:00 ET match with Kansas State.  The Wildcats are 4-2 on the season. After starting the season with a loss to Weber State, Kansas State has won four of their last five matches.   Game is available on ESPN+

Avery Lockwood makes it a 2-0 game 36'.  She must be playing like a Tazmanian Devil tonight as IU's been called for 7 fouls and she's got at least 4 of them.

Not seeing any video of the goals but saw this description of the Lockwood goal.  She catches the Kansas State keeper off her line and attempts an outrageous chip from just in front of the halfway line that sails overhead and in! It's her third of the year.

With 37 sec. remaining in the first half, Jen Blitchok makes it a 3-0 IU lead and that's how the half ends.  Her goal was described as a long range chip shot almost an exact replay of Lockwood's goal.

In their final tune-up before the B1G season opener next Sunday at home vs. Michigan State, the women took control early and will return to Bloomington with a 3-0 win and move to 6-1-1 on the season.
