Class of 2021

Khristian Lander, PG, EG10 - A jet quick floor general, Lander really impressed in a morning win. He looks like he will continue to grow, and already has very long arms. Lander also knocked in a few jumpers, and showed tremendous floor vision, especially in transition. Right now he is still learning the game some, but the talent is clearly there, and there is a lot to like about what his future holds.

Thoughts from a mailman on the first weekend of the Adidas Gauntlet qualifier from Warren Central.
I have been to these AAU for a couple years now and can now recognize some of the older IU fans that attend these things every year. What makes a great fan base is the passion new or old fans have. 70 year old IU fan with his gear on and notepad taking notes is great to see. Makes me wonder will that be me in 30 years.....
15 U Indiana Elite- I only watched 1 of their games this weekend. Since I don’t do this for a living I didn’t spend a lot of times watching the younger kids. For me I just think that it’s too early to gauge how someone that young will project to the next level. Most kids will have a different skill set the next year playing up. DJ Hughes and Hopf stood out from the one game I watched. Hopf had good footwork and moves down low and Ft shot looked smooth. Can’t wait to watch Hughes next year because he has some intriguing upside

16u- I watched Indiana Elite the most. They were one of the better teams (if not the best team) in this division.
Galloway impresses each time I watch him. The kid just knows how to win and makes the winning play almost every time. A lot to like about him moving forward

Tre Coleman- had some flashes where he was the best player on the court. He got to rim at will and finished in traffic. It will be interesting to see him next year

Majak- didn’t really stand out like you hoped he would at his height but also wasn’t terrible. Consistency is something he will need to work on. He goes stretches with no impact on the game and then will have a 2 to 3 min stretch where if a coach is watching he is going to get an offer

Anthony Leal- going into this weekend I had only seen him play once and from my limited viewing Galloway was clearly ahead of him. After this weekend the gap between them is smaller then I thought. Against strong competition he put the ball on the floor and finished at the rim. His shot was better then I remembered and he was hitting. He keeps this play up he will get some good offers. Next year during the high school season I will travel down to Bloomington to watch him play.

Zack Loveday- looked about 30 and had an awesome dirty mustache going on. Only saw 2 of his games. Good size and defended the rim well. I want to see him play more moving forward

17u- Hemenway- his shot was up and down in the games I watched. Today he was like 0-4 from 3 in first half against ITPS but did hit some big ones in the last 4 min to cut the lead to 3 at one point. I notice the stats didn’t have him for many TO for the weekend but I counted a lot more especially today in a very competitive game against ITPS. I’m not confident IU will offer but he is going to play D1 ball somewhere.
Hurt- not much has to be said about Hurt his rankings speak for themselves but it is funny talking with people from other areas of the Midwest that was there. People were asking why Calipari, self and Roy was watching that game and I told them it was for the top 5 ranked player Hurt on D1 Minnesota. The looks on their face were priceless and they would say really? His game isn’t super flashy but he is a matchup nightmare. Since it’s AAU I’m not even going to discuss defense lol. His team has a ton of talent on it.
Zeke Nnaji stood out to me and Tyrell Terry their point guard made some high level plays. Minny better be all over those 2. Fran was watching Zeke and also his son Patrick Mccaffery plays for them.
Oscar Tshirbwe is a beast and dominated down low. If his recruitment wasn’t national before this weekend I fully expect it to be after the live periods. Don’t be surprised if the Big Boys come offering
I see Old Fart has Brandon Stone listed on here and I’ve heard the name from other boards- my opinion move along nothing to see here lol. I wasn’t impressed at all with him.

I ran into scouts from each scouting services and had some good conversations. I just want to give these guys props for busting their butts to bring content to their respected service. I know some give them crap but they all do great work. These events are fun I know I sound like a broken record but if you live near an event please go. Can’t beat that much high level basketball for 10-15 bucks a day.

If you had your choice between Galloway or Leal which one do you take? I think both would love to come to IU but we can only take one probably.

Right now today I would take Galloway. That answer might change after another year of high school ball. Leal impressed me more then I was expecting this week

OOPS!  Damn cat must have walked across my keyboard!  I corrected it in the mass post as well.  Drops from 130% to 40% with a couple of keystrokes.  Thanks for pointing it out and I've absolutely no doubt I have other typos as well.

Jaden Delaire’19 of @NE6Hoops has been hearing a lot from Vanderbilt, USC, Virginia, Yale, and Stanford. Visited Yale & UConn. Vanderbilt & Indiana have both picked it up of late. Duke is expected to watch him tonight
