I just thinking getting top players even from Indiana is going to be tough. People said crean and Davis let all these guys leave Indiana but now we see why. Purdue could not get them either. No wonder izzo owned Indiana. His reputation of being a by the book guy was a smoke screen.

I actually agree with this. There are some people who will insist that high school players are special and better because of their area code. This gets in the players' heads too. Thus, some become headcases or cocky. They demand money.

Agreed. He will put out some big pomp and circumstance moment that makes his retirement sound like it’s his idea and has nothing to do with the problems at hand.

What was Crean's role as an assistant at MSU under Izzo? Wasn't he a recruiter? The current FBI investigation supposedly only covers the past 3 seasons or so, but could there be a connection there? Was Crean dirtier than we expected?

Maybe a matter of "learning at the master's feet"?

Watching izzo now makes me sick and knowing he won't get fired makes me want to puke. I hope one day he gets nailed hard but I doubt it.

Slow learner if thats the case.He did recruit the Flintstones though.
He was most definitely out on the recruiting trail when the coaching drills were happening.

There was a time I really liked him, not so much now. Throw him in with Pitino, Cal, Self, Roy, Bruce, Higgins, Sean, K, Sampson, and a whole lot more. It's time for a major purge. Screw the one and done. Once committed to play college ball, it should be like every other major sport, three year before yo are draft eligible. That won't eliminate the problem, but it sure will help. Imagine U.K. Fans that could name players from UK's past. This crap has destroyed the game as a lot of us knew back in the day.

I don't see any of this going away.  Some of this, the FBI stuff is practically just beginning.
