Mason Toye - Minnesota United

Recommended Posts

Mason Toye has turned heads so far in the MLS this season and now gets to enjoy some national recognition.

The 22-year-old former Hoosier and current Minnesota United striker was named to the United States U-23 national squad, according to a tweet from the Loons Twitter account.

So far this season, he’s totaled four goals and three assists in 10 games, three of which he started. According to the Minnesota United website, he’s also 0.89 goals per 90 minutes and scoring at a 26.7% scoring rate — both good enough for top 10 in the MLS. He was also selected to the MLS team of the week back in July.

During his time at Indiana, he tallied 10 goals (including five game-winners), two assists, earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors and was selected to the All-Big Ten First Team, All-Big Ten Freshman team, and United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region First Team.
