Archie wants absolutely nothing to do with any type of gimmicky marketing. I overheard two employees in one of the stores on  kirkwood (the one under Nicks upstairs) this week that Archie has even prohibited the sale of the team posters with player faces on it because his face is also on it. A customer was asking an employee about it and she said they're only giving them out at certain IUBB events, that stores aren't selling them at Archie's request, and that he's avoiding a lot of the other gimmicks that a Crean type would eat up, like prohibiting Miller Time shirts. The ones being sold in Bloomington are Miller beer related. They mentioned all of the stores selling basketball merchandise were a little taken aback at his approach to merchandise and marketing.

The guy is all about business on the court, so hopefully no one gets on his case and accuses him of being disinterested in the things we've grown accustomed to over the last decade.

I'm calling shenanigans on this, considering they've been an IU staple for decades and that the IU basketball twitter account had a tweet showing the making of them and promoting the sale of them in stores and online to those outside the immediate area.

I saw the exact thing as well, but customers in the store specifically were asking for them and the employees said they're not selling them, and outside of special events and times of the season they're unavailable, specifically citing Archie wanting to downplay his involvement in IU branding. Same goes for Miller Time t-shirts.

To those of you who are either at the game or paid to watch it thru BTN, appreciate your comments on what you're seeing in our defensive play recognizing it is an intra-squad event and they likely had a full practice session earlier today.

Impressed with Race so far. Looks to have solid bball IQ, solid positioning, and eye for the ball. Wouldn't be mad if we had to burn his red shirt this year (let's hope that doesn't have to happen).

That's great to see. I'm not a fan of scrimmages precisely because of lack of defense. I don't remember the last time I watched a MCDAA "game"
