I've actually seen this kid play. Very good prospect. Excellent athlete. Just a pogo stick off the floor. No gather at all,1st or 2nd jump. Shot needs work. Saw him make a couple of 3's, but his release point is not consistent. Can really run. Would be a wicked finisher in the open floor.  Plays pretty hard, though his body language wasn't always good. Needs to add a ton of weight. If he took a charge from someone like Jallow, he might be vaporized.

Indiana has just got a new coaching staff, but I knew coach Miller from his time at Dayton. Coach Archie is a great coach. It's not too far from home. It's obviously been a big time program. Things are probably going to change, but traditionally it's been a powerhouse.

Darius Bazley – 2018 – F – Meanstreets
Bazley joined Meanstreets late, but made an immediate impact. In two Nike EYBL Sessions, Bazley averaged 15.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. The former Ohio State commit was so good, he was reeling in offers during the non-evaluation periods. Bazley is 6-foot-9, 200 pounds with a sweet shooting stroke. A big mismatch problem with his ability to put the ball on the deck and a unique ability to hang and finish around the rim for his size, Bazley shot 46.2 percent from the field in EYBL, scoring 16 or more points in six of eight games. Bazley now possesses offers from Syracuse, Louisville, Maryland, Purdue, Xavier, Florida, and Georgetown to name a few.

Darius Bazley had a big week at the NBPA Top 100 Camp and the good news for Indiana fans is a trip to Bloomington may be on the near term horizon.

It's not a long drive from greater Cincinnati to Bloomington and 6-foot-9, 195 pound Darius Bazley hopes to take advantage of the short distance and visit the Indiana campus this month.
At least that was on his mind late last week when we caught up with him at the NBPA Top 100 Camp at the University of Virginia.

"We've talked about me coming down when I get back," Bazley said. "Depends on what day I get back from this but I'm planning on going there to visit pretty soon."
Game play wrapped up Saturday night at UVA and it was a good week for Bazley.
Recently moved up to No. 42 nationally in the Scout 100 for the Class of 2018, Bazley averaged 12.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and was among the leaders in blocks per game.
Those numbers earned Bazley a spot on the camp's All-Star team that was announced yesterday.

Bazley will be a senior this year at Princeton High, located in the Cincinnati suburb of Sharonville. That's the same program that produced former Dayton star Jordan Sibert. The ex-Flyer played the final two years of his college career for Archie Miller.
Now that he's at Indiana, Miller isn't starting from ground zero with this prospect.
"At Dayton he was recruited me a little bit but as I kept going he kind of stopped, but now that he's at Indiana, he's picked back up on it," Bazley said. "We have a pretty good relationship."
Originally an Ohio State commit, Bazley opened his recruitment back up this spring a few weeks before Thad Matta stepped down as the Buckeye head coach.
He's taking a different approach now that he's back on the market.
"I really want to take my time this time around," Bazley said. "Actually see all the schools. When I committed to Ohio State, that was the only school that I went to. Except Xavier, but I really didn't see the school, just went to basketball games.
"Now I'm going to take it step by step and really see what the pros and cons are for each school and take my time."
Besides Indiana and Xavier, other programs involved include Georgetown, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Illinois among others. He made it recently to a Xavier team and worked in an unofficial to Louisville.
Indiana could be the next to show more than a basketball game atmosphere.
He'd like to bring some of his family over to Bloomington if he can work in the trip this month.
"If my mom is able to go, yeah, but if not I'll take my coach. Either way. Or maybe take both."

I really want this kid. Lot of potential in this class but it does seem like we have a lot of ground to make up with most. Bazley is a different story being committed to OSU. That is why I think we have a better shot than most of these kids.
