I like him, just wish he was a little younger. Like a lot on here, I'm concerned about how well he will recruit. If we have a nice run with him for 10 years and he makes it a destination job for the next guy, that's about all we can ask for.

Not meant as a jab, just looking for answers. Why is everyone so hard on Marshalls ability to recruit and not Archie? Marshall has brought in some pretty solid talent and they always seem to get better the following years. Why wouldn't he be able to recruit at a bigger and better program with more money and tools?

Marshall is 3 years older than Billy Donovan.

I'm not sure why so many are so firmly against Marshall.  He's a considerable upgrade to what we have now, and his resume makes Crean's look like a joke.

Not saying he wouldn't, just that it's an unknown. Just don't know how much he would appeal to recruits on a larger stage. I think he's an excellent coach, but I also think a guy like Holtmann might be very successful for a long run too.

That was a bit weird. It sounded like she was getting ready to say something to the effect of "with your up and down season how do you feel about the energy of the team tonight?" I think he immediately went on the defensive thinking she was asking about HIS energy.
