Well Archie wants a 7 man class. I don't think that's the smart thing to do but I have faith in him

I would agree if you're not a program that can't recruit one and done recruits.  However this is the time to recruit the one and done types when 4 or 5 of those 7 would be 4-5 year players.

I believe he was recruited to be more of a 5 than as a PF. Also, the combo forwards that are being recruited in 2019 will start from day 1 and only be around a year or two. Forrester is a backup big his first few years. (Hopefully behind Davis)

Yup. Brooks/Watford/Hurt/Jackson-Davis aren't going to be worried about starting wherever they go.

And when we land a few we'll have solid backups throughout the frontcourt that we don't have to rely on but will develop over the years. It's a recipe for success.

Congrats to Jake and his family. Hopefully he can restore IU's presence as a national power!

This is a skill in itself. Forrester isn't being recruited to be the man. He'll need to bulk up (and hopefully grow a few inches) and be a solid backup. I like the addition.

Moore won't be playing the same position but they could play at the same time in a long front court.

Excellent point. Length is invaluable!

Congrats to Jake! Welcome to the IU Family! I saw an interview with his father and love the enthusiasm about IU --Bruiser helped here. His dad claims Jake is now a legit 6'10" and video shows he can run the floor well. Solid pickup. I trust Archie on this one. He sees something he likes. We now have the core and just need to add a 5 star or two and we are set! Go Hoosiers !

Congrats Jake and welcome to IU. Couple of thoughts on him and his value to Arch since there are many questioning this commitment...  1. Archie needs more inside help for both '17 and '18 which leads me to think he isn't satisfied with our big newcomer and the reason Race reclassified to this year as well as Jake's recruitment. I still believe Race will end up playing this year for this reason.  2. Jake runs the floor as well as any 5 I can remember since Ray Tolbert from the 81 championship team. And Zeller.Image result for ray tolbert indianaImage result for cody zeller

For the people that are worried about the number of 4's and 5's on the roster and how it could cause problems with recruiting the 2019 class don't. I'm looking at the 2018 roster to include Davis, Moore, Forrester, and Thompson. In 2019 I think you will see Moore, Forrester, Thompson, and hopefully 2 of either TJD, Hurt, Brooks, or any of the other PF/C recruits that we have offered. Just my to cents on the situation.

Welcome Jake. Couldn't be happier for the kid. Now, is there any chance Westtown can be shoehorned into the Forum Tipoff Classic or some other Midwest showcase event? Been a long time since I've wanted to see a kid live more than him, but a trip to Pennsylvania ain't in the cards.

Aren't there only 6 schollies open for '18, which just one remaining?

This is the recent debate. You are correct. Yet we appear to be recruiting Garland/Langford.

It would be easy to see an extra spot open up. Yet harder and probably not fair to project how.

This is the reason I don't think we can get both. I don't see it as an advantageous recruiting pitch.

Yeah there's only one remaining but it's clear Archie wants both Romeo and Garland. And it sure as hell seems like those two want to play together

My guess is we lose a 16 or 17 Cream recruit before next season, leaving room for an extra 18. The thing that concerns me the most is the fact that Garland and Romeo are potentially very interested in coming here. Would one have to be an over sign if they want to commit after HH?
