The part about this tournament that makes zero sense to me is, you start it a week after the portal opens. Unless you have a really young team what would you get from playing in this? Your coaching staff needs to worry about maintaining and acquiring kids. Just crazy to me.

I think ideally they would love to have the hire in place in the next 72 hrs. Unfortunately it’s probably going to be more like next weekend after whomever gets knocked out. The portal does open 3/24 so who knows how much time/effort they can put into it right away. Hell if there is some agreement in place verbally you would wonder if said coach doesn’t have people already working on portal things but then again, odds are whoever we hire is also preparing a current team for the tournament.

The same thing many people have been saying. Something smells funny here, is this a smoke screen? 3 names leaked late this week. I wonder myself.

But to be honest, Kentucky tried a couple big fishes last year and fell back on Pope. It “seems” to have worked out we shall see but it’s not like we are the first to take big swings and miss and Kentucky is in a 100 x’s better spot than we are.

Some new stupid tournament they are using Vegas as a backdrop to get teams. But I don't believe it starts until 3/31 so you will have all kinds of issues with kids transferring out, etc.

In today’s day and age there is a trail if this was true which I doubt it is. It’s not like back 30-50 years ago and someone mailed you a letter with letters cut out saying whatever, usually it’s via the internet and they find them. I think this though is nothing but someone throwing shade are way.

Exactly and no! Never understood why being from or playing in Indiana is a pre qualifier for some people.

Did I miss something or what? The headline reads the big “8 coaches reject” but the article itself mentions what maybe 3 names? May, TJ and Otz. The Beard mention says Dolson most likely won’t. Maybe I need to read again but this looks like more clickbait or am I wrong?

After watching his offense/playing style the only concern I have is the time in D1. I was worried about the offense or style but watching them this tournament, I could handle that.

The part that leaves me scratching my head is anyone but Goodman comes out and says "he's not a candidate" and it's being used as a "smoke screen" I could buy it. But from all accounts he and Goodman are close which makes me think the negative and no way it could be him.

So nobody that you get info from has said anything different from the jump or at least in the last 3-4 weeks?

Ahhh, was trying to think of an actual coach. Knowing what I know about this recruitment and how much the kid loves Hurley, I don’t think it matters today who we hire. Could be wrong but the connection I have I ask him to lose the question a month ago and he laughed at me and said forget it.
