What I appreciate about Curt is his honesty. He's admitted that the team, so far, stinks, but they are trying really hard to get better. This is much better than Tom Allen dodging the subject and saying that they're giving 110% and LEO. Cignetti understands the reality that he's inherited a bad program and it's not going to get good overnight. They need time to get together and build confidence. But more importantly, he also understands why we have spring games.

So, let's start with this: Las Vegas women's tournament loses Dayton, Purdue, Texas A&M (espn.com) The school up north saw what happened last month and decided "No sir, I didn't like it", opting instead to play a road game against Texas A&M. Dayton also pulled out, and the organizers are trying to save face by claiming that the other schools involved are glad the "Power 5" schools aren't showing up, which begs the question... when did Dayton join a Power 5 conference? They're still in the Atlantic 10, which is regarded as the biggest of the mid-majors, but saying its a Power 5 is a stretch. Now, in fairness, here is South Point Arena: Arena Information - South Point Arena, Equestrian Center, and Exhibit Hall It's not a reception room or dance hall; it's an actual arena with seats configured usually for rodeo events and was one of the places I pointed out as a "secondary" venue people could have gone to. But I think the event the Hoosiers played at ruined it for everyone due to how you just can't trust these people with organization (claiming they would be playing in a TV-ready set) or safety (leaving a concussed Auburn player for 40+ minutes) or promotion (not having anything for fans).

I'm going to ignore Mulkey and the anthem cuz it's Mulkey and she's long established where she sits on the political aisle despite all her claims of being nonpartisan. I'm more concerned about how crummy the NCAA runs things with the women. They sure as heck don't let mismatched 3 point lanes and ineligible referees slide during the men's tournament. It's a growing business and they're treating it like an Olympic sport which means "eh, just toss a few bucks and let God sort it out".

Technically, the 2025 NIT venue is still up for grabs, so in theory, we could just... I dunno, host it again.

At the risk of sounding contradicting or sounding like I'm a Woodson apologist, what will firing Woodson do for us, especially if the next coach doesn't deliver the results fans desire? This is different from football, where there's absolutely no history to build from, so I can understand why people are far more passionate about this side of Hoosiers athletics...
