IU fans are the worst. This choice has so much upside, and nearly zero downside. After all, we can’t get any worse than we have been! I'm honestly pretty excited about it, but I selected 1) Happy 2) I like it. 
I think this is out of left field (in a positive way), placing Thad as a GM of sorts, assisting Woodson with coaching evaluations, player evaluations, making connections in the AAU/High School world, etc. etc. 
The supporting staff will be crucial, specifically from the aspect of grooming a coach in waiting. I truly think this is a positive outside of the box approach that can win (and even trendset) in today's cbb landscape.

My initial reaction to the hire was kind of...enh at best.  But you know what, f it.  Listening to this press conference, I like Mike.  LFG.

Call me a sucker, but I’m really buying what Coach Woodson is selling. My only real concern for him is that he’s 63. I think his NBA experience is only a positive, and I love having a coach who obviously understands how important this position is, and it’s so easy to see that it’s his absolute dream job. I’m looking forward to seeing a modern team. 

It’s only like watching paint dry if you focus on how he’s talking and not what he’s saying. 

I’m glad that he mentioned the transitioned from the old guard to the new.  I’m glad he acknowledges it.  Like the family aspect as well. 

"If you want to talk to Mike Woodson, get on a plane and come see me." Hah! I kind of....love that? He will certainly command respect. 

Man the amount of passion and just the genuine emotion Woody is speaking with right now has me fired up

I'm closing in on 73, so I'm guessing that puts me squarely in 'blue' hair territory. But I also know I have lived a good life and I don't feel entitled in any way. I say let the young folks have their time. I get almost as much pleasure watching kids have fun as I do having fun myself.

1. The hire an IU guy crowd gets their wish. They will be right or we can stop this rhetoric finally. Granted it’ll cost me 4-6 years of my life.

2. Thad Matta angle is certainly interesting. Seems like a positive no matter how it goes. It’s odd for Matta to agree to. Therefore, Probably getting overpaid. Can he provide ROI? Let’s see.

3. IU isn’t a blue blood anymore. It’s been up for debate for a while. This question is answered.

4. Probably a 6-8 year hire at best. Another chance at a premier coach at that time. Or more likely it’ll be the same old, same old. Maybe a coach in waiting situation if this group can be successful. Geez.

Well we knew not everyone would like the hire no matter who it was. But IMO this is very good and strategic hire, and bold on Dolson's part. I like it a lot. Hoosier Nation will like it, and it could be the first step to getting back where we belong. All true IU fans, young or old, should get behind this and support the new coaches and players. If you aren't going to support it, move on, we're fine. Go IU!

I really wonder what the average age of butt hurt is
