Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers
rcbowla replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Could be. However, wouldn't that be getting off on the wrong foot with the inside/out recruiting approach. Even if AM didn't ask him to transfer just the perception is bad when you're trying to build in state relationships don't you think? Not that he should be blamed for the cluster puck that Crean has created but still....... -

I really think Blackmon will leave. He's graduating and has wanted to play pro ball since he got to IU. Given the fact that these guys have until May 24th to decide to remain in the draft or come back makes it all very interesting with Moore having to decide by Monday. If AM is making him decide then he already knows the intentions of the current players. I honestly have stopped guessing who the other one will be that's leaving beyond Blackmon (which I really believe will happen). -

South side of Ft. Wayne is far from predominantly white. I'd say the opposite. If you take the suburbs into account then yes but not on the south side. -

My bet is that JBJ goes, Rojo returns, then either TB stays or McKinley Wright signs. Oh and Moore gets his release -

It's good for the student athletes that believe it or not will have a life after their time in college. They are essentially trying to better their chances at success in the future. So are you against someone trying to better themselves? That seems hateful if so -

Yeah....I'm freaking out. Someone should probably get me under control. I was wrong and that is it. Nothing more to it. -

So the staff announcement means nothing and it's wait and see as poster before stated. I stand corrected. All assistants get announced by Goodman apparently. Guess I ignore most of Goodman's tweets. USPS set me straight and proudly did so. -

I edited my post. Yes he reported single promotions. Haven't seen him report an entire staff. I could be wrong and it may be special circumstance seeing as how the idea was to announce this staff all at once. -

Head coach. Send me a link to when he reported assistants to a program. I'm sure he does but not unless they matter. I've seen him report promotions but not an entire staff -

Generally speaking.....Jeff Goodman like people don't twee out a team's staff members if they don't matter. Our staff might very well be the "best" like Archie said he was going to go get. Honestly I thought it was just talk but now.....I really believe him. -

Can't find a Google Image showing Ewing, Wright, or anyone else wearing a headband. Nor can I find an image with Rivers wearing sleeve. He wore a t-shirt though.

Out of curiosity......is there some sort of rule against an IU player wearing an accessory? i.e. a headband or arm sleeve? I for some reason remember hearing that Knight said unless it was necessary for health reasons he wouldn't allow any of it. If this is still a rule I say get rid of it. Just silly to not let them wear these type of things.

Or Lyndon Jones?

Groce is going to take Akron job. This is not likely to happen but I had been thinking Lorenzo Romar would've been an awesome get. Last I heard though he was rumored to be joining Sean at AZ. Groce would've been great to have though. -

What is the deal with Matur Maker? Everything about his (and Thon's for that matter) recruitment seems odd. Both of them seem to have been pains in the ***** to recruit. I really don't know a whole lot about him but I did see that IU is the only school to have offered him so far. Any insight on how he is leaning? Would he even be a good fit within the new system? -

Having Groce on staff even for just this year would be greatly beneficial to Archie. He obviously has coached against every B1G team, he has recruited the area well and has ties to the state. Yes he would likely be on borrowed time but it would be good for both parties if he were to be an assistant with Archie for a year or two.
