I saw this posted on a Minnesota forum and I had to laugh. So, Ben Johnson was a player on a northwestern team that didn't win a single conference game and then transferred to Minnesota and was on a team that went 3-13. He also was on staff for two teams that went 2-16 and 3-13 in conference play. 8-58 in those four years, impressive
I am still befuddled at how this guy got that job. I mean he was also on staff for some of Xavier's worst teams of the last 20 years!

Gunn did not look too good. Lost his cool a few times and was not really noticeable out there. Hopefully just an off night. 

The only cool thing about the Oregon court is the torri gates that spell Matt (Phil Knight's son who died).  Really cool design that incorporates Phil Knight/Nike relationship with Japan.

Lander will be just fine Bales. I think we need patience and so does he. Like I’ve said before, I don’t think the plan was ever to have him play a lot of minutes this year. I think the staff, his family, even kristian himself, knew that he wasn’t ready physically for this league. I firmly believe his re-class was solely for the purpose of getting him into the conditioning program a year early so that next year, when he is expected to take on heavy minutes, he won’t still be so far behind physically. The small minutes we see him playing this far are a reflection of that plan. He’s learning the defense and working on his body. He’s in basketball camp right now.

Playing for the most wins all time in the Classic this weekend!
I get a bit irked that Butler gets painted as the biscuits and gravy eating, playing on a hoop off the back of the barn, all Indiana team. It is private school in the middle of one of the largest cities in the US, whose in state population is about 50% (IU's is 68%, which seems high but that is what my source said). Plus, they are famous for losing two championships , while having the gall to criticize about how IU harps on championships that was won decades ago. YOU DIDN'T WIN ANY! They had an incredible run with an incredible coach a decade ago. They didn't invent the game of basketball.*

Another quality win versus a tournament quality team or at least a team that will be in the conversation.  This win came without your 2 seniors.   2-1 trip playing nothing but teams that will be considered for the tournament shouldn’t be overlooked.   Bad games happen and they most definitely had one yesterday and came back today and scored over 70 points.  College basketball is a crazy sport to figure out sometimes.   They have a good enough defense that if they ever get a consistent shooter they will be a tough out come tournament time.   Not going to make everyone happy but that’s life

Finally saw some good effort today. All it takes is one game. Maybe this will get them going for the rest of the season

When? I’m not saying he won’t, but that was a thoroughly discouraging loss. I’ve known that his system would take longer to build. I’ve known that he has wasn’t exactly left with a full cupboard. I was willing to look past some of the embarrassing losses, hoping he was building something.

He is supposed to be building a team that can play anyone, anytime. Wasn’t that what he said? Year three, first road game and that is the product he puts out on the floor? That should be embarrassing to all involved. Wisconsin is a team that isn’t very good offensively but our D made them look awesome. But at least we can be assured that if it happens say 11 or 12 more times, changes will be made.

I guess I’m starting to lose faith.

Since you asked, I'm cautiously pessimistic about next season. I get what you are saying about Romeo- but anyway you analyze it IU was not a dynamic offensive team and is losing their top 2 scorers. 
The hope is everyone returning improves and the new-comers are as advertised. 
Rob- healthy and consistent, Green- under control and above average 3pt%, Smith- holds onto the ball occasionally and makes a shot in traffic- ANY shot (he frustrates me more than anyone. I want to shake him and scream "Just #$%*! FIGURE IT OUT DUDE!), Davis is healthy and can play a solid 20-22mins a game. Durham & Anderson improve their shooting, and Hunter is able to get on the court and show us what he can do.
I have moderate expectations for Franklin & TJD. Not that I don't believe they are good or that IU needs them, just skeptical and jaded. The last few years I've been positive and kind of expected the best case scenario and have watched much less than that materialize......but hey the Baseball team is playing well!  

We are playing where we deserve to be playing.

We havent been in the same class as them for 30 years. You can only watch the 1987 championship game so many times. Wr are currently not an elite school but if you want to tell stories from 50 years ago then I guess.
