Yes, they lost Hunter, Guy and Jerome to NBA. All underclassmen.

Pretty sure Myles Powell is the best scoring guard in the country. Almost unstoppable going 1-1.

I've never liked Scott Drew but damn he's done a hell of a job at Baylor. A team that is consistently in the top 25 and from what I have seen is the best team in the country this year. Gonzaga being a close second. Baylor downs OSU at OSU 75-68

Kid who can shoot from Indiana...Believe he has visited campus but we have not offered yet.

Wasn't comparing effort levels but we've shot absolutely horrible in each of those games, have we not? We are yet to even shoot halfway decent on the road. Hard enough to win in tough road environment when shots are falling. When they aren't, forget about it.

If we play anywhere close to how we played at Wisky, Rutgers or Maryland we are absolute toast! Yet to see us play halfway decent on the road this yea.r

Thank you this restores all confidence that I have in the team, its ability to shoot, and rest of season outlook going forward!

Honestly unless it is a top 5 class it may not matter. I think the performance next year will determine his fate. No way you are going 4 years without an NCAA appearance. And throw in the fact there will be a new AD. He either gets to the tourney and buys more time or the class coming in is star studded (seems unlikely given the performance on the court and what these recruits are watching).

Problem has been we haven't been hitting on the 3*s and 4*s. 2018 recruiting class is looking like a colossal disaster. Is that harsh enough? I guess since we have Phinny that probably is. The coaching staff has to be nothing short of a major concern. As we've discussed previously, they put this team togehter for the most part and the development has been non-existent. Look at Wisconsin. They don't have any 5*s. Never really do. I know they are 11-6 but they are mostly 3*s and 4*s and unlike us showing improvement as the year goes on. They have recently won road games at Ohio St, Penn St and Tennessee....i think this is what is most concerning. We don't seem to ever get any better as a season goes on. If anything, worse and exposed with better competition. Next year without a drastic change (which hasn't happened yet) I don't see how we can be any more hopeful than we are right now.

Hard to argue with this. We're yet to see any good/consistent shooting within this offense or from any of the 14-15 guys that have played for Archie over these 3 years. Heck even Romeo couldn't shoot worth a lick.

IUBB vs Rutgers Game Thread 1/15 7 pm BTN

Sure is hard to win on the road when you can't shoot. Game against Nebraska is huge. I feel like we have to get this one. Go home with an L and its going to be difficult to see us getting any road wins this year.

Not sure if that is Archie or just not having the right guys to space the floor and get guys the ball in the right spots. To me, possibly some coaching but also personnel. That personnel piece is still a big problem this yr.

Fizner wasn't a BIG caliber player, Henry is. No doubt that Henry would be more of a contributor than Anderson. Anderson has proven since the second he stepped on campus that he wants to be a 3 and D guy. Problem is he can't get the 3 to go down.

Anderson committing before Henry is another one of those what could have beens that is killing me. Henry shooting 50% from FG and almost 40% from 3pt range. I think we all expected more from Anderson at this point....

    If IU loses to Rutgers...

Yep my thoughts exactly. Two of the lower tier teams in a tough conference - if we want to go dancing 1-1 would feel a lot better.

    OC Candidates

The basketball was depressing but I was at least hopeful on football. Allen got his big raise and job security and promotes the OC from within. Big mistake imo. There is a great team coming back and it would be a shame to not get the most out of the offense this year. Promoting from within on a side of the ball you are strong on as a HC I can get behind. If we take a step back this year offensively CTA is the only one to blame. Have to hope this guy Sheridan is the real deal.
  18. Anybody catch this gem of a quote on Archie's radio show “I think the ‘They can’t shoot,’ or ‘They don’t make 3s,’ I think that is complete B.S.,” Miller said on his radio show. “I think we’ll make good 3s if we deliver the ball when it’s supposed to be delivered.” I mean on one hand what is he going to say other than defend his team that he built. On the other hand, he better not 100% believe that because he is going to have to retool this roster to get actual shooters in next season.

Can we please start a bring Bruce Pearl to IU thread. The more I thought about this over the weekend the more I would love nothing more than to put all the cards on the table and go out and get this guy. I do believe it would be realistic unlike some of the other options out there.

Just adding to the slap in the face this year is. I never thought Crean would get a better team at Georgia before Archie at IU but sure enough Georgia has a much better roster. Edwards is a total stud. But they also have two or three other guys that can shoot the rock. It's run and gun which we all became accustomed to but its entertaining to watch.

If that is the class we end up with, Archie will not be here in 2021. Feel pretty confident in that at this point.

I'd rather have the Butler coach if you go mid major. I love the way they play and he recruits well too. If you are bringing up Kelvin, why not look at Bruce Pearl. Wins everywhere he goes and recruits lots of 4* and 5* talent. Also, don't think he finishes his career at Auburn.
