Line movement seems to imply a notable absence for Indiana. This line shouldn't be as high as 5.5 with a full strength roster.

Gunn, finished with 12 points, but did not score his first basket until midway through the second quarter. Post-game LN coach Jack Keefer said "Gunn, the 6-5 Indiana recruit, is not back to full strength coming off the foot injury that kept him out the first six games of the season. He’s having a tough time deciphering when to shoot, when to pass, when to cut, when to move,” Keefer said. “He was hurt in the summer and hurt during the season. The poor guy hasn’t played that much.”
LN won't play again untl Jan. 21, at North Central.
Bizarre quote.

Warren just not a fit or what? Seemed like defense regressed/changed identities this season.

Do you have any insight on the timing of Warren leaving and Wilt being announced next day? Seems like this has been in the works for awhile.

Did he ever visit IU? Assume it's UVA or UK considering we haven't had any chatter recently.

Va Tech people hadn't felt confident in weeks (pre Bama visit). Clowney himself said he didn't think he was going to Bama going into that visit. 2+2=4.

You might be absolutely right and he was leaning IU or a Tech before that visit and that visit sealed the deal. But if those 2 schools were far out ahead of Bama then you could argue that when he cancelled the first visit he would of just picked between the 2. He must of liked Bama enough to reschedule that visit. Reminds me of recruits saying during the process they want to go to a place where basketball is superior or where they wins games and then pick places that have no history or where basketball is not that big of deal.
In this case, the grain of salt from the player himself aligns pretty much exactly with what had been reported in the last month. So maybe everyone is wrong. Just don't get why people are making a federal case out of this when there's really been no conflicting timelines presented.

And we still don’t get it. I never mentioned conspiracy. The “insiders” know where their bread is buttered and run with momentum. There was a reason he took the visit to Bama.
Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appYeah, maybe I'm just dumb and don't get it. Are you saying Clowney is lying with his above quote and that the lean was actually Alabama going into their visit?

Some were convinced Bama was out when the kid got sick and couldn’t make the OV. We tend to where our crimson colored glasses 24/7 and those “insiders” won’t hesitate to play to that.
I’m not telling anyone what to think or how to act. There has been a pattern of leading before just coming up short. There’s a reason for that.
Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app'“Initially going into the (Alabama visit), honestly, I had the least amount of thought that I would go to Bama,” Clowney said. “I didn’t think I was going to Bama, going into the visit. So I get there and they showed me a lot that I didn’t see before.'
From the horse's mouth. There's a pattern because recruiting often goes like this - it's all the whims of 17 year old kids. I definitely buy the narrative that he was thinking IU post Bloomington visit; I don't think that was some "insider" conspiracy.

Not a fan of the football approach of committable vs not committable offers at all. Why not just slow play him on the offer like they did Leal?

Simply from the sanctimonious Gregg Doyel columns/propaganda pieces for the Brown family that would come demanding he play more, it's a "no" from me as well. Purdue takes fliers on 3 star kids all the time (see Brian Waddell and Braden Smith in recent classes) and stayed away. Tells you all you need to know.

D-1 Hockey is very hard to finance. Illinois has been struggling to get one started for years - and they have a much stronger youth hockey base with the Chicago area to build off of.

Whoever sparked that rumor on the Vols forum is 100p just running with the staff telling JHS that Xavier and Rob are most likely graduating and that there will be a lot of minutes available at the point guard spot, considering the only competition will be Lander. For reasons already explained by others, there's no way Woodson out right promised the starting job right away.

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appRead the Illinois 247 site breakdown of the situation. Didn't leave his most recent school (Hamilton Heights in Tennessee) on good terms and also questioned the Illinois staff on why they were continuing to recruit guards after he committed.

Or just get a good NIL package together for TJD and convince him to stay for a fourth year and cement his legacy as an all time IU great. He'll have the stats for it, just needs to make a tournament run now and win a Big Ten championship.

She said he feels pretty good after flu-like symptoms, and a full recovery is expected."Wow his mom is so creepy. Can't believe she announced an illness that tens of million of people have had in the past year.
Edit: Just saw that the New York Times has joined the creep show in reporting on the outbreak at Peach Jam that affected Hood-Schifino.

I guess the preference would be for him to mysteriously not play the rest of the AAU season and have everyone speculate on the reasoning? The kid and his mom are free to disclose whatever they want. Odd comment from you.

I follow SLU athletics a bit, and I was surprised to see that AJ Palazzolo is going to use his extra year of eligibility back home at SLU per this release. I hadn't seen anything in the IU media space announcing this transfer. Anyone have any insight? Seems unusual for a captain and regular starter to grad transfer like this, but maybe just wants to play one year in front of family?

By all accounts Gunn had looked good in his earlier games coming off the injury. Multiple 20+ and 30+ scoring performances. And now he gets thrown under the bus after one bad game? Odd.
