Great win.
Can’t go back in time but the Iowa and Northwestern games still make me a bit ill. On the other hand, going into the season I had concerns about our perimeter. If you had told me then that X would miss a ton of time and that Bates would not emerge as a consistent threat I wouldn’t have been surprised if we were 5-7 at this point.  It understandably took a few games to adjust without X, JHS is very good but needs to get more consistent (JHS is talented but let’s not forget we have a freshman leading us at the point) and kudos for Trey for his improvement.
Rutgers has punked us numerous times lately :(  Looking forward to us returning the favor on Wednesday!

If Gallo wasn’t so young I would have suspected  him of teaching Elaine Benes how to dance.

We hit 4 threes, were out rebounded by 16 (ugh), Edey had 33 and 18 but we still won.
MANY past posts have mentioned (the obvious) that you have to hit your free throws. We were 15-18 (PU 10-17) which was one of the key differences. Kudos to Race and Trey for hitting pressure packed free throws.
The rebounding differential was offset a bit by our 8 turnovers vs 16 for PU.
 Loved the way we moved the ball in the first have but the ball got “stuck” quite a few times in the second half.  
 
Banks 
We really, really need to beat Rutgers and get three games over .500 in conference (as opposed to falling back to one game over….HUGE  difference).

So do the comparison about who 'deserves' to be #1 now.  
Tennessee has four losses and only highway robbery gave them their home win against Auburn today.
Houston has two losses as well but they've only played three top fifty Pom teams.
Alabama has three losses and is a week removed from a 24 point loss to a team that wouldn't be in the tournament right now.
If another team jumps up to #1 next week -- which is likely -- they would really be taking over #1 by default rather than by claiming it.

Pre-season number one UNC falls to 7th in the ACC
Clemson is currently first (albeit a 3 way tie in the loss column) in the ACC! WTF.
Crazy year. The NCAA tourney is going to be even more unpredictable than usual.

Ha, he’s probably just disappointed we are not in year 6 of learning the complicated packline defense and/or defending Archie because he was hampered since Race was a Crean recruit. :)
He did, however, show up when we lost a few and will undoubtedly return if we have another bad streak.
 

#1:  Storming the court after a win >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> sitting on your hands after a loss.  It's fodder for the mostly the old school crown but no one really cares.
#2:  Hot take, but Purdue IMO should still be ranked #1 after the game.

Painter is awesome all around. I hate him, but in an I love him type of way. 

Other than fan base d**k measuring contests (mostly online and anonymous), why does it even matter if they storm the court or not? It's a program that just beat the #1 team in a close game which was exciting for a team and fan base that hasn't had a ton of success the last ~5 years. Even more exciting was that it was against Purdue.

worth a watch. I respect Painter a ton, one of the few coaches I'll watch their postgame. He talks about Trayce around 3 minutes in, just gushes over the player and the person. 

Yet I imagine there will be plenty of drinks bought for TJD and Race Thompson at Killroys tonight and plenty of Gatorade at film tomorrow.

Who cares.
