It actually isn't a terrible draw to make the sweet 16

Soapbox time. My two cents on storming the court…generally IU should be above it. Us storming the court in Crean’s second year after beating Minnesota was rock bottom for the program, and yes the expectation for this program and fanbase is it shouldn’t be a surprise for us to beat anybody at home.
    HOWEVER…
I can’t imagine how much it probably sucks to be a college student these days. These kids have had a lot of joy and potential memories stripped from them these last few years because of Covid. Wear a face mask in class, if you’re even allowed to come to class at all? When I was at IU one of my classmates showed up drunk during Little 5 week, passed out in front of the teacher and broke his nose on the classroom floor. Then he got arrested in the bathroom after a janitor found him asleep on the toilet. For some of these kids they didn’t even see their classmates’ noses for over a year.
Add this on top of many of them never had a senior prom, spent weeks quarantined in their dorms, lived in a shell of one of the best college towns in the country, and may very well leave IU with a fraction of the memories most of us had when we were there. Let them eat cake, let them storm the court, and let them have some fun. They deserve it and then some. They’ll never get this time back.

Lander cannot play defense at this level yet.   It's really no harder than that.  Phinisee lost so much confidence when he got hurt his soph year and for whatever reason, never recovered.    Lander isn't any better offensively yet and he's not close to as good defensively.  That's why Phinisee is playing right now.
I don't understand the abject vitriol toward him, and much of the criticism seems harsh if not unwarranted.  The guy has had a tough time shooting it.  No question.  But he still has a career 2:1 A/TO ratio, and he's a stellar defensive player most of the time.  Compare these 2 players, and with the exception of shooting %, someone tell me why one is beloved and the other vilified.  Other than "one was on better teams," I don't get it.

For the record, as much as some like them (and that’s okay!) As long as it’s not Beilein, Alford, or Drew I’ll be fine.
Oh who am I kidding? I’ll be fine and root hard for my alma mater no matter what.

I’d like to know where you’re getting your information that makes you feel confident in calling Chris’ information false. Because I know where his information came from. And it’s far from false.
If you feel like comparing sources you can PM me, but if you’re not blood-related to someone directly involved and ready for me to confirm it then whatever information you think you have is not strong enough to discredit anything Chris has shared.

NWOHoosier reacted to Feathery in Hunter and Franklin 3pt shooting
I was looking at some stats and it appears that both Hunter and Franklin may have turned the corner shooting the 3. Both are not shooting a good % for the season, Hunter at 26.8% and Franklin as 23.1%.

However, after a brutal start to the season, Franklin has shot 40% from 3 over the last 5 games (zero attempts vs OSU). The previous 5 games he was at 0%, on the same number of attempts (10). Maybe the game is slowing down for the freshman or he is just feeling more comfortable.
Hunter seems to be shaking off the rust. From the Nebraska game forward, 4 games for him, he is shooting 53.8% from 3 on 13 attempts.

Rob’s is up over 6% from last year as well, at 37.2%.

I just found these stats to be encouraging, as these 3 guys will be huge over the next couple of seasons. If they can keep up the good shooting, then this team can reach a different level. Might be time to start Hunter.

Some of you are sickening. He “strung people along” what????? Clearly you don’t get how recruiting works. You start with a certain list of schools, you cut it down, and then you pick from a list of your final 3 or 5 or whatever your preference. So just because this kid is gonna pick Vanderbilt as HIS AND HIS FAMILIES choice of school for him to play at he strung Indiana people along? No. He’s a great kid that comes from a great family that might play basketball next year at Vanderbilt, Indiana, or Kansas so just shut up and let it play out. It’s gross what some of you grown adults say on here
