To the OP... I'm not a huge fan of CAM, but I'm also not calling for his job right now either. So far, we've done decent vs some good teams. TX was ugly, but liked what I saw vs FSU even in the loss. Shooting has to improve obviously, but I have a feeling it will as the year goes along. If not, I'll likely jump off the CAM train. FT shooting is a bit better. We should be 6-2 going into the road game vs IL. As long as we don't get blown out, I'll be OK.

Welp, I'm normally not happy with any loss, and certainly not happy with this loss. But I'm not mad either. Sure they struggled in a few areas, but hey also played very well in other areas, and were right there at the end on the road, vs a good team. TJD had a clutch block and 2 FTs. Durham had a clutch 3 late, and several others had some nice step up moments. A loss is always bad, but this isn't one to be overly concerned about. We got barely beat, by a good team on the road.

Pretty good game overall. Only bad shooting came from Franklin and Lander. Franklin was only really bad from 3 land. TJD had the game I wish he would have had vs TX. Galloway was pretty strong. Race had another really good performance. Too early to get pessimistic, but wish Lander was hitting more. Still disappointed in the showing vs TX. Total let down. TX is damn good though, and a ton of talent. They had UNC down big early.

Maybe on the last day, but they're all there through the 2nd. Horrible to have the big/best games during the day, and loser bracket during prime time. AshEvillE is a pretty cool place to be honest. Not as cool as Maui I know, but still.

I was OK with it, as I like BW. But I agree, he was out there. It was like Snoop as one of the commentators for the Tyson/Jones Jr match.... BW might have talked more B-ball than Snoop talked about boxing. Key word, might.

Some buddies of mine and I have had this same type of conversation the last two years. We'd all like to peak at practice lol. We all wonder about their FT concentration, and we all wonder if CAM is making it painful/costly when they miss. I'd bet if team laps or suicides became a thing when they stunk at FTs, we'd see something better.

Haven't really dug into TX, but watching them today, only Sims of the starters really impressed me, and he didn't shoot a lot. K. Jones off the bench looked good. Not sure if we can count on repeat performance like today from Race, but I'd love it if he did. I think TJD will need to step up IMO. I was pretty impressed today with Phin and Durham too. Race obviously was a beast. TJD was fine, but I expect more I think. The only thing that surprised me was that the bench, and especially the frosh, looked so anemic.

Agreed. I think I said last game that it might be one the biggest underlying things that gets CAM fired if he doesn't improve. His scheme relies on getting fouled, and obviously hitting the FTs. Did better today. I'm happy happy.

I think we all want that. Things were just a little over the top after the first game. We did much better today. 45/36/75 isn't bad for game two vs a pretty decent ranked (KP) team. I'm happy. Never got close. Looking forward to the Longhorns tomorrow.

I jus hope we shoot better FT and 3PT shots. The whining that comes with it is worse than the bad performance itself.

Way too early to make any legit forecasts. My gut says however.... The adds (Frosh) will be an upgrade over the losses 3pt shooting will improve in time. Durham was near 40% last year, and the 1-5 last night was rust. I expect a little improvement from Phin. I expect one or more of the Frosh to improve and contribute (1-8 last night). I don't seeing us being great or anything, but I do think we'll improve as the year progresses and be at least respectable. FT% is just bad. We need to improve big time for the system to be successful. If anything (underlying to the simple W/Ls) will get CAM fired, this is it. Simply no excuse. I can stomach it a bit from TJD since he dominates in other places and makes up for it, but some of the others have zero excuse and not a lot of off setting benefit. We'll know a lot more next week. Providence is a good match up to kick things off. As far as KP rankings are concerned, IU/24 vs Prov/46, then either TX/9 or Davidson/85, then UNC/22, UNLV/132, Stan/33, Bama/48. The only real scrub is possibly UNLV. Getting a win over Providence, and a good showing vs TX would make me optimistic. Then we need a good showing vs FSU.

Yup, should be a good matchup with Providence. I think we're both ranked similarly. As far as 3pt %, I think the frosh were the biggest issue. 1/8. Without them, 36%. And that's with Durham 1/5. I'm sure the Frosh will improve. Aside from Franklin and Galloway, everyone struggled from the stipe. Archie needs to fix that ****
