Here’s a problem for Woodson too. We have a roster where there’s no help on the way really for what we are missing. He needs to keep the guys we have and land a solid contributor in the transfer portal. Our best guard is gone after this year and we have two guys clearly staring down the NBA although their play against good teams might indicate they aren’t ready. That doesn’t mean they are staying. He either needs to keep everybody and get one stud. Or get up to 3-4 studs in the portal. That’s not realistic given his track record. Currently we look to be a worse team in year 4. Peaking in year 2 is not a recipe for success

Nope sorry that’s a cop out. That’s a reason to not get the quality of players we would like. But everybody on this board thought we could use another guard in the off-season and we didn’t get one. And we had fewer holes last year so seems strange

Why do we have glaring roster holes in year 3?

Thanks for all the prayers folks start my new job on Monday. It’s a bit of a pay cut but i get to stay on first shift which was a real priority for me my daughter is 6 almost 7 and I want to be with her as much as possible while she still wants me around. Im going to be helping my wife with her business by handing Social media presence and trying to help create passive income so fingers crossed I can figure that out and maybe parlay that experience into a career change down the line

True. The interest alone on that first years 68 million woolf be a huge amount

I think they should change it to where in total you can defer the average salary of the life of the contract and then defer however much they want each year but this is just dumb. Or force the team to pay them that amount up front so they can’t just make a stupid decision and say it’s the futures problem.

I don’t think with Woodsons track record he is going to get guards. Purdue is out recruiting us despite our NiL because at the end of the day players know they have a chance to win some basketball. It’s pretty clear that JHS was the exception not the rule for Woodson with guards.
