Any rumors on who the front-runner for the contract is?

If they athletes no longer use the red backpacks with their number on them and a badge that indicates who it belongs to, then I apologize.

BTW.. The backpacks that all the athletes use on campus are bright red and have their name and number on them... I wouldn't want to put anything illegal in them since it's pretty easy to tell who's backpack it is...

I get that he wants what's in his best interest... I enjoy watching him/having him on our team. But now I'd honestly rather have a player who wants to win a championship/wants to be a part of the team first.

So does he just wait out and see which of the 4 teams is the most promising for him? Or does he need to declare soon?

I see him getting his "adult strength" in about 2 years and tearing up the nba. I also hope his basketball ability catches up with his athleticism this summer, just like Dipo.

As one of the biggest Crean haters I'll admit that most of my posts in the past have bashed Crean... While I'm done with the bashing for this season, I think that blind optimism would worse than wanting a couple kids to leave so that Crean gets fired. I would compare it to the cubs... They haven't won big in 100 years. IMO the upper management doesn't seem to care because they have such a loyal fanbase and no matter the outcome of the season, they show up cheer and always say "this is our year". Management doesn't care because they are making $$$... If the fans stopped showing up and demanded changes to be made, maybe they would have had at least 1 ship in the last 100 years. If anyone has read a Jim Collins book (good to great, great by choice), they would be familiar with the Stockdale paradox; which is put simply, having blind optimism that everything is going to be great, but ignoring some glaring facts about the current situation can be detrimental to the long term outcome.

I'm curious as to why we can't get more in state talent. I've heard that Crean's relationship has soured with the Indiana AAU/HS coaches. But is that it? What is the reason we couldn't land Harris, Swanigan, Lyles?

For all of the Indiana misses, which ones would have fit in the best here at Indiana with our system? I'm bummed about missing on Harris, Mcgary, Lyles, etc. but to make me feel better who are you glad we didn't get?

I know most of my posts bash Crean... I apologize if I've annoyed some of you. With Bryant coming to IU it looks like Crean will be here for 1 yr. I will tone it down on the Crean hate from 100 to about a 10. I still want him gone, but posts from me here on out will be positive and have no mention of Crean! Congrats to IU landing Bryant!!!!! Let's goooooo!!!!!

Harness good energy, block out the bad. Stevens is the good energy, Crean... Well you get it.

Stay positive about Stevens coming here. I wouldn't waste my energy staying positive for Crean. 

Let's go Crean. You can do this!! We believe in you!!! Get that job!

IMO some fans who have lowered their standard of IUBb is a direct reflection of Tom Crean rubbing off on the casual fan the last 7 years. As Jon Taffer would say "I embrace solutions, not excuses" I think we have a great shot at landing Stevens this year.

Also, were there Mike Davis supporters who argued that he should be given one more year during his last 2 years. What were those arguments like? How do they feel now?

Crean is a lame duck. As a coach you never wanting to be coaching to save your job. Even an elite 8 can't help him IMO, at least not at Indiana. If he's smart he takes the Alabama or ok state job. Learns how to make in game adjustments then gets one more shot at a big time program.

Tom has such an Analytical type personality that he's not capable of being a great head coach. Someone who has learned about the different personality types can back me on this.... His personality suits the job of an assistant coach perfectly.

That vote of confidence sounds familiar! He must be off the hotseat like our coach!

I grew up hating IU because I thought they were stupid for firing Bob Knight (I was 10 when he was fired)... I had never watched an IU game until my Freshman year of college. My junior year was the first year with Zeller and instantly I became a huge fan... I've since watched tape of old IU bball and read a few books about Bob Knight to try and make up for lost time

I'll send mine. I'm also sending a hand written letter to Bob Knight.

Has anyone answered this? Why does Bozich love Crean so much? He writes great stuff, but ignores the elephant in the room in every post (Crean).
