Agreed... if it's either/or, this is the way to go. Loved Woodson as a player, but not sold on him as OUR coach.

If they get a top assistant with the HC aspirations as the plan (looking at you, Michael Lewis), Beilein would not be a bad thing, IMO.

Candidate Thread: Mike Lewis

Can’t say this about Arch... dunno what happened there for sure, but Crean’s ego would not allow him to learn or grow in the job... he was always the smartest guy in the room in his own mind... The difference Lewis is tough, gritty and smart. He’s paid his dues and seems to be willing to learn. He has none of Crean’s arrogance. Could make a huge difference in the outcome. -
True except he’s the brother of a DIRTY coach at Arizona.

Clearly not a Hoosiers fan... [emoji15]

Lewis Fife Cheaney Woodson Anybody who ever played at HPER Alford -
Mark? Mark who? Matta is wide of Mark ??? Is that come cryptic clue?

Give us a few more days and we'll get another lap on Mr Toad's Wild Ride...

I'd definitely go Lewis over Fife... just something intangible about him... Lewis just seems to me to have that gritty edge... not ready to give him the keys to the kingdom... but I could live with him as "heir apparent" under someone like Beilein... I think Beilein could teach him a lot.

Wooden was nothing without Sam Gilbert greasing the skids... dirty in my mind... always will be...

IU won 86-85 in 3OT. The game was at Madison on Feb 16, 1986. But Bennet wasn't there yet.
-
For the last 20+ years, it's been no ball movement, 3 man weave on offense, win a big game every now and again... get some really good recruits who take us all the way to the Sweet 16... beat a #1 team every now and again... and fail to make the NCAA dance and even the NIT.
-
Maybe he's heard that he and his program will be paying the price for Pitino's escapades... and sees this as a chance to get out of Dodge.
-
We also had a search committee and more people involved in the process when IU hired Archie... since this is a "Dolson only" thing, I expect significantly tighter lips with the info... then again, the candidate/new hire will obviously know and so will his family and his current employer (if it's not Matta or Beilein)... so yeah, it will probably start leaking out soon IF Wednesday is the day.

Horrible choice... neither "HOME RUN" nor "happiness"

Interesting... Arch hasn't been gone that long...
-
We've had our guy multiple times... until we didn't get them to Bloomington... that's all I was saying... Total faith in Dolson... it's not been a full week yet and we've been all over the map with the next coach... just have to trust him to make us all proud.

Maybe a better shot with her... she has the Pips.

Been here before...

Can't do that. He was never on my list.

Keith or Shaka?

I've seen that play too many times at SSAH...

That's about all we can do. We have no say... and have to trust Dolson to get it right... or die trying. Crean did a good job digging us out of Sampson's mess... but with the #2 and #4 pick in the same NBA Draft, he was unable to get out of the sweet 16... and couldn't teach how to beat a zone... Arch was in over his head... a classic example of the Peter Principle, IMO. He was great at the MM level, but just didn't have what it took to get it done here... Tired of the roller coaster of big names that aren't coming (Donovan, Stevens) and the untouchables like Few, Musselman and maybe Beard... But have we sunk to the Alford or Woodson level? Thankfully, it's not my call to make..

After dropping $10 large to fire Arch... I hope to God that he has a plan.
