Fair enough... and yeah, I heard/read about the conflict with Woodson, and didn't take any of that in to account. I stand corrected.

I understand the intent... but the kid is being paid... deserves some criticism, no? Seems to be following in Woodson's footsteps - cashing the checks, but certainly not earning them.

Thrilled that he will be gone... but clearly he's nothing more than a legend in his own mind.

The wheels are off. They have been for quite some time.

Actually, the fanbase is pretty united at this point... united on the facts that Woodson is NOT a good coach and that he must go.

There were stories at the time that Buckner got the Cooks and the Simons to commit to a large NIL bucket prop Woodson up to allow him to "prove" that he brought IU back ... and that he would then "ride off into the sunset" as the guy who did, in fact, bring IU back ... remember he was a "bridge" coach whose purpose was to unite the fan base (old and new) and restore the shine to the program ... of course, we are seeing how well that played out.

And it's possible that Dolson reaches out via back channels and gets a "handshake" agreement with May's people before Michigan can extend... no matter who are on Dolson's list, you can bet the farm that Dolson is already engaging those guys at some level.

Dolson can negotiate the buyout down... and the max hit is $1M/year... slow, drawn out payout... or... he could offer a lump sum lower amount ($8M at $1M/year OR $3M today and we're done)... Dolson has options.

And there's absolutely no way we land May if we don't ask... make him say "no".

Woodson has never recruited anyone "hard".

You know, he can bank $20M for "doin' his job" at Indiana... but he cannot control/manage what people think about who he is and what he stands for. Let Woodson go on laughing on his way to the bank, but deep down, he has to know what an abject failure he's been as Indiana's coach. He has to know how large his failure has been... and no amount of money can soothe the deep-down bruise to his ego... Zero respect...

I don't know... I have a contender in mind.

FWIW, his legacy as a lazy, incompetent parasite will follow him to his grave.
